I can say that your question would be best answered at ppckitchen.org they have a great tutorial on how to use the kitchen and oemizer http://www.ppckitchen.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=25 As for flashing the custom ROM you need to flash the device with the 2.31 coke unlocker from here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20370 first before any custom ROM can be installed. this just has to be done once.

But take my advice read the ENTIRE unlocker thread at least 3 times or untill you fully understand it but at least three times. Use only the 2.31 unlocker if you are cooking a GPS ROM with build os. Read search read search and read somemore. Don't just jump feet first into the fire. Take baby steps or you might have a big head ache!
