Sprint HTC Touch, Touch Cube And Pocket Express
 

When I got the Sprint HTC Touch in 2007 it had a service, selected via the Touch Cube, called On Demand.

Sometime later it automatically updated to Pocket Express. Then a few months ago, another update making Pocket Express a bit nicer.

I just had to hard reset the phone and lost Pocket Express. The phone was back to On Demand. No problem, it has happened before and I would just initialized On demand and then install the upgrade cab file.

No more. Both telephone technical support and the local Sprint repair center said the link was gone! No one ever told me about this change. I don't have Sprint TV or Sprint Music so I don't know if they are broken as well.

So now the Touch Cube which has Sprint Music, Sprint TV and On Demand/Pocket Express is there but while it attempts to install On Demand it just goes into an install loop and keeps asking for your zip code and installs and asks for your zip code and installs and............

So my question is: Has anyone recently had to hard reset there HTC Touch and got On Demand/Outlook Express to work like it used to via the Touch Cube?

I don't use the cube any more but I can tell you that you can use the cube configuration tool that is in the thread that is a sticky in this forum to edit the link for on demand/pocket express that doesn't work for you. As for pocket express, you can download it free from the sprint software store and then install it. Then edit your cube to run it. Good Luck! :mrgreen:

Thanks for the reply. I have Pocket Express working. Just not in the Cube. I will try to file the tool you speak of to see what thats all about.

I downloaded that cab some time ago but never tried it.

Just installed and ran it. Very Nice. Perfect for what I needed.

Still curious, folks........ Has anyone got the Touch Cube to work, specifically On Demand/Pocket Express after a recent hard reset.

Sprint says it no longer works!!

On Demand is basically gone now so I doubt it will ever work again. One of Sprint's ideas that didn't work.

I wasn't too concerned about On Demand because it was replaced quite a while ago with Pocket Express. When the upgrade took place it change the (3-sided) Cube to reflect that change: Pocket Express.

I was a little disappointed that Sprint just stopped the cube from working with Pocket Express, at least from a Sprint Technician's point of view.

For all I know it still works but the technicians simply haven't been instructed how to make it work.

Anybody know if the other links work: Sprint Music or Sprint TV?

Sprint Music/TV should work.
The thing is, you can always use an app like the cube configurator to fix issues like this and make things work again by mapping the buttons to whatever app you want. Right?

Do away with the cube and get MORTBUTTONS.. you can do so much more. Here I just made you a little youtube vid, and here's a link to the app,

That looks cool! Hadn't seen that before. Do you have any idea how much memory it takes to run or cache?
