[12/29/08] Epsilon9090's non-M2d Rom

*IMPORTANT INFORMATION*

-You must be unlocked with Imcokeman's latest unlocker
-This is a SPRINT rom
-Radio 3.35+ Required

*Not responsible for any broken phones! sorry :(*

Hello,

I've put together a stable non-2d rom for everyone to use. It's based on 20931, super fast, and it's the first rom that I have used in awhile without any issues whatsoever. Great battery life, too.

I personally use this rom with s2u2 and icontact. I included tier-aa in the rom, so put these cabs on the root of your SD card if you want to install them.

a. http://www.supware.net/iContact/iContact.cab
b. http://s2u2.ac-s2.com/

Also, here is a link to the latest Google Maps installer, which I did not include.

c. http://www.google.com/gmm/GoogleMaps.CAB

Also, don't forget to hard reset after you flash! In order to do this, hold down both the red and green buttons and insert your stylus into the hole at the bottom of the phone, holding this position for a few seconds. Follow the instructions that pop up on the screen.

For office, use this following link (thanks hooover): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=420919

HTC Home Customizer is included, so you can change your 5-tab Home theme to whatever you like. Personally, I use toon!

Re: [12/27/08] Epsilon9090's non-M2d Rom

You should have screen shots and a list of programs as well as letting people know what exactly they need to do some thing like:*Before flashing these roms....*

-You MUST unlock w/ ImCokeMan's v2.31 unlocker

also what radio is recomended (most likely 3.42.50)then let them know that you are not responsible for their device and they can possibly ruin it....

Re: [12/27/08] Epsilon9090's non-M2d Rom

So far so good- I was getting a bit tired of M2d Roms, I haven't found anything stable like that of WDMs but that isn't up to date any longer- I used one based off the new SYS and the battery life was horrendous. This uses the WM6.1 Black theme and uses a today screen that incorporates a tab bar in middle of screen similar to that of the M2D themes- I like what I have seen but need to report back after messing around with it some more.

Just when the excitment of ROM upgrade is about to dry out, here comes a new one. This a better rom than most others (I've tried almost all and back to the stock ROM). So far everything is very good, thanks for sharing this ROM.

No problem I'm not exactlt sure what JVM is or I would help there too, I know it's Java but just mobile or what ? Plus Java is going to come in a .jar file so it may be a different experience even downloading/installing it...

Just let me know...

Re: [12/29/08] Epsilon9090's non-M2d Rom

Hi!

I don't know where to find a link for java, but I never really used it so I didn't put it in. I just use the built in windows email app for gmail.

Anyone find any bugs or anything? I've been using the rom for a week and a half without a reboot or strange issue yet.

The only thing i encounter is the fact that s2u2 loads up, and when I unlock, the phone goes black and i have to hit the power button again and unlock it again. I have had this problem on a lot of roms, however.

And alarms are kind of messed up. They only repeat twice, and that's it. I think this is a 20931-s2u2 specific problem, because it never happens to me with any other sys.

Thanks for the advice guys!

update... still working great.. no issues encountered

question.. does anyone know where to get the cab for the manilla keyboards? specifically the smaller htc full qwerty in white? vs the stock black (which I believe takes up more of the screen)? Thanks

Thanks....

Heads up... Don't install the Gullan version.. it's buggy with this rom.. I used the DubinBJK suite, that one worked just fine.

same here on the s2u2 unlock twice issue ... I only encounter it when I have not touched my phone in a while.. need to spend some time to review the s2u2 setting and match it with the inherit phone lock timeout settings.. I think maybe s2u2 is locking the phone and the windows based lock timeout is doing it too.. hence the double unlock

Probably wont need it but as we all know, its a lot more battery drain when you use the built in outlook/pop3 to access mail servers. Thats why I prefer to use the gmail java app. Problem is, I cannot locate a simple java virtual machine cab to install on this rom so that when you download a jar file from the web, it will install it on the java client

Latest version of Jbed JVM with a signed copy of Opera Mini can be found here.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=455655

You can then download and install the gmail jar file!

Great rom! I haven't had any problems with it. I bumped the page pool up from 12 to 16, and it is quick fast.

Still continues to be a very good Rom. I did find one bug.. the HTC album cannot retain "set as fav album". Each time I restart the application, it continues to show the default HTC pictures from the devices My Pictures, instead of my storage card/my docs/my pictures. Is there somehting in the reg I can tweak to fix this? Thanks

how did u do that? I thought ur only allowed to do that to the rom file prior to flashing? ie pagepool_changer.exe to RUU_signed.nbh

Correct. When you open up the page pool changer, just direct it to the .nbh file and you can change it there before you flash it.

Thanks to the OP, or should I say, "my compliments to the chef"! Loading it now. I find that while it was pretty, the M2D didn't really do much for me. I like to run lean whenever possible.

Re: [12/29/08] Epsilon9090's non-M2d Rom

I really like this one. I am now over the M2D craziness and just wanted a nice, CLEAN ROM, no games, no BS. The only issue I have discovered with this ROM is the battery time - really bad in my case. I was at 100% at 2 am. Unplugged and went to sleep. In the morning, at 8:30 am, without a single call being made, the phone was at 73%. Righ now, at 1 pm, with no calls or data connections, it is at 37%. This is the first ROM with such a poor life.

Hey Geno,

I'm having the same exact problem with the battery life. I can't figure it out, because when I first started using the ROM, it had great battery life. Now, all of a sudden, it's horrible. I really have no clue why; anyone experienced in this sort of issue have any ideas?

Really strange. I keep checking to make sure that GPS, Data, InfraRed, etc. are off. Not even auto-checking for e-mails every x minutes - just manually.

Something is draining it big-time, unless it is only a displayed drain and not actual drain. Have you ever let it go dead? Would be interesting to see if it does.

Re: [12/29/08] Epsilon9090's non-M2d Rom

It does go dead, I've unexpectedly run out of power, which has never happened to me before.

I'm sad! This rom has been perfect for me except this one HUGE problem. HELP!

Re: [12/29/08] Epsilon9090's non-M2d Rom

This is the best ROM yet that I have loaded on my Phone, and I have tried most of them. I just don't care for M2d, I find it limiting and need multiple clicks for what use to be on my homescreen. THANKS Epsilon!

On the battery issue, I have the opposite, my battery life is Fantastic! On all previous ROMs, I was pretty much drained by the end of the day. A few calls a day, I use email push as they arrive all day, several texts, etc., no GPS, no Bluetooth. On this ROM, I still have anywhere from 25 - 40% battery at the end of the day depending on my use; 8am to 10pm. I have had this ROM loaded since 1/3. Only thing I have added that runs all the time is S2U2.

Only problem I have, I use lotus notes at work which requires IBM EasySync pro 4.25 to sync my calendar. For some reason, on this ROM the install works fine, but when you reboot the phone, I get the error: unable to launch \Windows\101\XCPCSyncSvr.exe : Error 2. This has something to do with the phone security policy, you should only get this error if the phone is running a two-tier model, but I have verified that this phone is set to one-tier which reduces the device security to run unsigned applications. I tried everything for several days, reloading the ROM each time it wouldn't work with no luck. I ended up having a work around by using the mort script at the bttom of this page. http://www.ppc-phones.de/punforum/vi...c.php?id=13568
