Re: Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update
First I am not a total noob. I have flashed my AT&T 3125 & 8525, Dell Axim, & Tilt.
I was forced to switch to Verizon for work purposes which I hate but its what I am stuck with. My goal is to only carry one device. I just received my VW Vogue yester day & it still has WM6 installed. Boot Loader Screen: SLP-0.36.0000 CPLD-3 Device Info: Rom Version: 1.15.605.14 Rom Date: 03/10/08 Radio Version: 1.60.30 I have done a lot of reading about how to unlock the GPS on XDA Developers, ppchaven, & here to. I want the simplest process. If I flash this rom & let the customizations run. Then install the Valhalla Legends GPSServer.cab I should in theory be able to use the GPS with TomTom. RUU_Vogue_VZW_WWE_3.14.605.1_Radio_3.37.77_Ship.ex eexe is the Rom referenced in this post. Can someone explain what the difference is between this one & RUU_Vogue_VZW_WWE_3.14.605.1_Radio_3.37.78_Ship. Is it just the radio? |

Re: Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update
I'm at loggerheads with the Valhalla install. I have just run the official Verizon ROM to 6.1, letting customization run. Afterward i installed the GPSServer.cab and did a soft reset. After confirming that the device's GPS settings were correct I attempted to load GPS in Google Maps and the device returned an error saying no GPS device is found. I tried re-installing Valhalla and got a message that the file couldn't be overwritten. Then I manually deleted the GPSServer folder in Program Files. Then I tried running the Valhalla Uninstaller, which said it was unsuccessful. Then I went into Settings/Remove Programs, where the device said it was "partially unsuccessful" with the removal. After several soft resets I can't even re-install the Valhalla CAB; I get a message saying the install was unsuccessful. I can't think of anything else to do other than MANUALLY remove this application. How do I do this?
NEVER MIND -- I GUESS THE "UNSUCCESSFUL" MESSAGES WERE INACCURATE. GPS WORKS FINE! Last edited by slappy_dunbar; 02-15-2009 at 02:23 AM. |

Re: Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update
the .77 i believe is the leaked rom for verizon, whereas the .78 file is the official verizon release.

... and .78 is apparently the one that makes it more difficult to unlock GPS... I mean the ROM with the .78 Radio, not the Radio itself.

However, that being said, I'm running the 3.37.78 radio and GPS works just fine. DrEllisDee extracted the Verizon radio from the official Verizon ROM and put it in a stand-alone CAB which I used. |

Re: Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update
Hi All, I've read through this thread--all a bit mind boggling, so please bear with me
I'm currently running NFSFAN's 1.04 M2D ROM on my XV6900, but I'd like to flash to this latest 'official' Verizon updated ROM and also retain my GPS functionality. Will I be OK just running the Verizon official release ROM --> allowing customization to run --> running 'Valhalla' GPS fix? Here's what I've done to my phone so far: IamCokeMan's Vogue unlocker, 3.21 Sprint update w/ 3.42.3 radio NFSFAN's VZW 1.04 M2D custom ROM Many thanks for any advice! |
