Re: Upgrading Tutorial For Verizon XV6900!!! Radio 3.42.30 with working GPS
Negamann,
Thanks 100 times over for your tutorial. I had read literally thousands of posts, but was just too timid to jump into the upgrade pool (I usually wait until there's an official Verizon to flash back to). With your instructions I flashed OMJ's (both clean and custom), JDs, and Ghettofreeryder's ROMs, but I am now TOTALLY in love with DHarvey's RC2 ROM. Although it is published specifically for Sprint it runs like a charm on my lovely XV6900. It's fast, slick, and has all the bells & whistles. You guys gotta try this one :) |

They probably means they will be upgrading soon :) hence why they are enabling it on our phones

I just recently spoke to our Verizon rep (I'm an IT Manager, so I deal with them all the time). He said that ALL EVDO was now rev A. We have it available at work - just not at my house :(

Re: Upgrading Tutorial For Verizon XV6900!!! Radio 3.42.30 with working GPS
Negamann and others, thank you for posting this... I, like many others have been searching for a good tutorial to do this for over a month. Great job!
For those who are having trouble with text messaging and placing outbound calls after flashing to a new ROM, if the methods are not working as suggested here you may want to try registering another phone (a different ESN) via your account on verizonwireless.com. I registered an old ESN and then re-registered my 6900 and it I was finally able to get it to program properly with another call to *22800. |

I think this is the way to go as far as making sure you can get your phone back on the network. Hopefully, you have a former working phone to do it with. DHarvey is making a mean ROM. V2 should be out tonight or tomorrow. |
