Hi Nex,
Which file did you use to control the volume in the earpiece? For example, I went to change out the audiopara.csv file but it wasn't in the windows directory and I need my earpiece to be louder.

Go into options in Resco explorer and set it to show system/hidden files. I think that will make it appear!

I'll try that but when I copied the file over to windows directory it usually asked me to "overwrite" and it didn't this time so I assumed the file wasn't there to start with. I'm actually using TC. I'm not fond of Resco after trying it a few times.

Well this looks like a great rom from what I have read in the posts on this thread except I have seen a few post on battery drain, and I was wondering if anyone has found a way to ease the battery drain.

I would like to try this rom and I am a heavy user mp3/internet/word docs etc. I have a 2500 milliamp battery and i can drain that if I am not careful in a 8 hour shift.

Re: NexVision's HULK ROM GPS_RevA

My battery lasts two days on this ROM With e-mail checks every 2 hours and moderate Internet browsing, talking about 40 minutes a day and listening to music through BT Moto S9's for 1 hour each day.

I too experienced what I felt was HUGE drain on battery when I had the GPSToday plugin running on the Today screen. I just un-checked that in UL and it's been just fine since.

Of course tower location / signal strength play a substantial role with this phone. If you have a good strong signal all the time, your battery will last a good long time!!

Ya I am not a big fan of GPSToday on the today item list, it seems to turn on a lot without me turning it on, so does GPS still work good without GPSToday on the today screen? I work in planes and I do find if I am in the ****pit for a length of time my phone will heatup, the planes are grounded/shielded really good so the phone has to work harder and drains the battery pretty fast, hence my concern for battery life. I think I will give this rom a go then after a backup.

Ok, I haven't even finished booting up and I am impressed, How many people have actually placed their finger on the screen, hehehe, I like it, and the rest of the splash screens look great, almost needs music to make it a fuller experience, hehehe. I love the slide to unlock too.

I have to say I have had several ROMs on my Touch, and this is definately my favourite!! There is one problem though. I am on the Bell network and I am unable to get a GPS fix. I have tried Tom Tom, GPStoday, LiveSearch, and all give me an error.

What are the settings to get a fix? Had a few ROMs in the past that I was able to get a fix, but I have tried registry tweaks, and just waiting up to half an hour for a fix. But all I get is an error saying, "GPS not installed or cannot be found"

I would like to keep this ROM but I would also like GPS, Could someone please point me in the proper direction?

Re: NexVision's HULK ROM GPS_RevA

There are many threads on the forum about registry tweaks and applications for getting GPS to run. While there is a lot of work going on (and communication) it seems that a lot of it is CARRIER unique. Meaning a tweak for Verizon may not (most likely will not) get you what you need for Bell,...

Having said that, this is what I did to get my Verizon GPS working,... and now that it's working, I haven't messed with it! :evil4:

Changed GPSMode = 2 in the Registry
Went to Settings / System / Ext GPS and moved it to COM2
Set it in the window sill and ran GPSView until it got a fix (about 10 minutes)

Right now, I get a lock in about 2 minutes after a soft reset. I get a lock in about 10 seconds throughout the day when I fireup the application again. I use both Google Maps and Windows Live,...

Hope that helps you some,... beyond that we would need to hear your specific error message to assist more.

I also have Verizon and I did the ppst.exe fix. There is a sticky called "still having problems with gps?" or something like that. Read through it. After about page 25 it starts to talk about Bell and Verizon users. I personally use Holux GPSViewer to prime my gps and I get a lock in less than a minute. Then I start google maps. It's kind of finicky though. Last time I wasn't patient enough so I took the battery out then got a lock pretty quick.

I loaded several other of the current roms on my phone for comparison and there is NO COMPARISON. Nex has a lot of extra's on here and a lot of things to tweak around with. Awesome job! In fact I'll probably donate a couple of beers!
