OMJ, can you tell me if the ALLTEL specific Rom contains the "missing" GPS driver? Or do I need to install that to get GPS to work.

BTW - I have flashed the Leaked Sprint Rom to get the 3.37.15 Radio update.

I just flashed using your Alltel specific Rom and I am still unable to get the GPS working as I would expect. Do you have any pointers.

Also, in your Alltel Rom in the top Start bar it Shows "EV" when using your ROM, when I used the ALLTEL rom, I was not seeing anything there and they said it was because I had REV A in my area. Any truth to this, and is there any way I can tell if I am using Rev A or not?

yes, it has the VIRSER_GPS.dll driver. yeah, I too had a hell of a time getting GPS to work with those roms. I'm just glad the sprint rom came out, cuz it's night & day between the 2.....I have aborted those alltel/kaiser/specific carrier roms, and wouldn't even recommend them. for a non-sprint user I would recommend either the leaked sprint rom w/o the carrier customization, a custom rom that does not have the carrier customization or using the ppckitchen to cook your carrier specific rom......I may put together some carrier specific roms soon, but it takes alot of time to clean out.

omj... ok this has been buggin me for a while an i jus never got around to posting it.. for some reason my phone does a lot of strange things after a soft reset.. it often sends out texts messages that i send many hours ago to the same recipient, as well as a lot of the threaded texts are gone... its as if it will backdate itself to a few hours ago.. what is up with that? a lot of my friends have told me that they've been receiving weird random text messages from me

I had some odd things like that happen also. Old web pages in the favorites list that I had deleted magically appeared, deleted email was back on the list and so on. I saw behavior like this when the cache values were set to a high value which prevented changes from being saved in a timely manner. I'd assume this is the same thing.

Hey there OMJ,

Is this OMJ.WM6.1.GPS.Verizonv2.exe dated 19 May 2008 an updated version of the VZW one you posted on the 1st of the month? I am downloading just in case it is, but thought I would ask.

Never mind, the dates and times of the ftp site were a little screwy and show the correct info this morning. I will wait and see if you get carrier specific versions based on the leaked rom out. No worries.

First, OMJ, thanks for the great work on this ROM. I searched the thread for a similar scenario and couldn't make any progress.

I'm running the latest OMJ customized ROM on a Sprint Touch. I had previously been data roaming on Alltel because Sprint offers only 1X data where I live. After the ROM update, I can no longer keep an EVDO signal when I data roam. I've tried numerous different applicable PRLs (202xx, 606xx, 607xx) with the same result. When I soft reset with forced roaming, the EV icon display briefly (a minute or two) and then changes back to 1X.

Any ideas and or tweaks to keep the phone locked on EVDO instead of it thinking it needs to switch back to 1X data? Thanks!

BTW, the GPS portion works great after it manages to find a signal.

hmmm, I really don't know, I havent seen any of this myself, and haven't seen many ppl report......have you tried the leaked rom to see if the same happens?
