BTW, I used LiveSearch, and it seemed to be more accurate and faster than google maps. Just an fyi.

Anyone else have the ROM Update utility stop at 11%, send the phone to the colour screen, then go back to the progress screen and continue? Seems to be continuing fine though.... just the new bootloader?

Hi all. Im sorry to bother you guys but i just attempted to do this to my phone and i am having issues. I downloaded all the neccesary software as to first post. I followed instructions and now am stuck at the rainbow screen. after opening the unlocker it prompted to disconnect and reconnect so i did so and then it tried to initialize and failed with error unable to connect to device. Im stuck please someone help me out. I established active sync but when reconected no sync was established. PLEASE HELP ](*,)

If someone could quick help me out id really appreciate it

whats all this talk about a GPS priming utility. I currently have Google Maps installed and have flahed with Alltell's rom. (I've installed both the security patches and gps files.) I chose Use GPS from Google maps, and I continue to see Seeking GPS satellites (0). Is there some application I need to download and run before I can use GPS.

Couple of interesting observations:

The initial fix took a very, very long time. I just about gave up, but then it started working, and has been getting better and better as time goes by (more satelites showing up, and faster ttff - warm boot).

Playing with the SUPLGPS settings in the registry, I find that GPSmode=1 seems to give me many more satelites that any other value.

No primer is necessary. People are using QuickGPS to try and get a signal faster, but I just used plain ol' Google Maps and it worked within a couple minutes.

If you followed the OP's instruction, there shouldnt be anything you should do in addition to get it working in google maps. So just be patient, the initial lock up can be long (thought it took less than a min for me)

i have my phone at the window of my dorm room, you think i might just need to be outside?

any other possible ideas on the problem?
