Yup, I was kinda praying that that would fix it, but it didn't change anything.

what version is the radio on the phone, it should be displayed in red when booting up?

My next hunch is that maybe my battery is too low to boot, so I pulled the battery and plugged it back in and I'm gonna let it charge for a bit...but its not doing the solid amber light like it usually does, its flashing instead.

Progress folks...

I did some searcing and was able to get out of rainbow hell by using MTTY to connect via USB and issues the following commands...

cmd>set 16 0
cmd>task 8

and the device restarted and took a while but then booted into WM6.1 (which was on it previously), and now I am back in business!

One issue... I don't believe I have a radio any longer... :(and without vzw issuing a rom yet I think I am screwed.

However, no more bootloader to get me in trouble if I have to replace it!

Congrats, you could now probrally run IMCokeMans unlocker and rerun the Alltel rom.

Not sure but maybe what Hoby did might work for you ussing mtty.
Which will allow you to run the unlocker and then run the Alltel rom.

UPDATE IN PROGRESS!!!! ==== YESSSSSSS!!!!!!

So as you pretty much have all figured out -

1. Make sure you use a 512 card (the one it came with)
2. Format it! (Reformat it again to FAT32)
3. Copy just that file (assuming you have sprint - into the card)
4. Get it to the loading screen... (it will freeze on that screen)
5. Copy the original stock Sprint ROM which you should have renamed to the microsd card
6. soft reset
7. You will now see update in progress and then eventually update complete!!

Not sure it's been a while, ask Hoby in a few post back he just used it on the Vogue.

I was able to successfully flash back to the stock rom rip for vzw.... flashing in progress!

Edit: Alright, I found the mtty program, and I ran the two commands that hoby did, we'll see if it works, but right now it doesn't look any different than before.

Once I did that, I was booting back into WinMo 6.1, and then I downgraded unlocker, and then was able to flash back to default OS with the storage card.

Im having the same problem as a couple other people here, i tried the way everybody said in the bootloader, i formated the 512 factory stick to Fat32 and put that small program on, the gray screen flashed with image not found and went back to the rainbow screen. I then extracted the factory vogue image and renamed that on the memory card, but no loading or anything, just straight to the rainbow screen. I tried using mtty but my keyboard dont work in that program, although the program is functioning. About 30 minutes ago i took my phone to the sprint store i bought it from and the guy said that i would have to take it to there tech shop, which was closed already. I have the Total Protection Plan, should i take it to the tech shop or try a different sprint store to exchange it?

I have a Verizon XV6900 so I used the nbh that was ripped for that... hence my issues with trying to get back to square one. You should be able to use the .nbh that is extracted from the Sprint load though...

Well, it looks like all isn't well....

When I sleep the phone with the power switch, it doesn't come back unless I soft reset.

Oh well, I was close... if only I could get rid of the bootloader for exchanging it...

Alright, I redownloaded the Sprint exe, extracted it again, and I'm gonna try flashing my phone one last time. I realized I hadn't been reformatting the card b/w the first and second flashes, I dunno if that could make a difference. But if this doesn't work I'm giving up until someone smarter than me comes up with a new idea.

Edit: Still no radio, no friggin' clue why that is. So long fellas, and duke, I REALLY appreciate all the time you've put into this.

Thats because your SPL, radio and rom don't match. If you want GPS use the 2.31 one and then flash alltel exe. Then the radio and OS and SPL are in sync from there you can install custom GPS roms.


Everyone is using the name VOGUIMG.nbh when putting the roms on their SD card (under 2GB and fat32) right? Also same process could work from activesync for some, it would at least give a clue to your errors.

ImCokeMaN, sounds like a plan to me.

Now that I was able to get out of bootloader with MTTY, I will give the Alltel route another shot... I suspect, it was all downhill when 2.31 didn't take... If I can get Alltel working, I will be a very happy camper.

SOME ONE please help me, i'm not an idiot i have flashed rom's on this phone like 12 times before this... so i'm not a noob, i've tried everything on this thread like 17 times lol and i still cant figure out how to unbrick this.

When i turn on my phone it says

Got Alltel installed, just having issues trying to make calls because it says "We are sorry, we are unable to authenticate your phone..." when I make a call... even after programming the phone sucessfully. I am assume there is something special I will have to do on VZW to get it working again.

You should check your MDN and MSID, but i'm not sure if that was causing issues for others or not. Might need some vzw users to chime in.

i got my phone unbricked and i just figured out my own crazy way i never even used a SD card. I got it to connect and flash through the computer.

Good to hear you got it going, I fell a sleep for a bit. Sounds like your MSID, A-Key is incorrect. If you know it you can open the dialer and dial ##778#, that will launch the EPST configuration menu. you could look at the the following Titan forum it might help, or call customer service and tell them you did a hard reset now you cannot make a call. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17667

Got my A-key updated, and all is well, running 6.1 and GPS is working great with Google maps! Once I sort out setting up my MMS server I am golden!

Stealth - how did you do it? Im stuck at the same place you were. When I put the small voguimg.nbh file on the sd card it says loading... no image file for a split second before going to cokemans 4 color screen. When i put the large 92 mb voguimg.nbh file on the card it still says loading no image file.

Please let me know what you did. Thank you!!!

Edit - My Sprint Vogue has cokemans unlocker on it and says the following on the 4 color screen:

I cannot connect it to active sync to flash it. Im pretty sure where I screwed up was I thought I has unlocked my phone using his new 2.31 unlocker and then tried to flash my phone with JD's GPS rom. On reboot it just freezes on the HTC screen. Any ideas anyone? Thank you.
