Re: New Alltel 3.04.671.2 Rom Released, Rev A enabled

Quick question,
I've loaded the new Altell Rom and JD's Rom and everything seems to be working. My question is; for me to tether unlimited data to my laptop without Sprint knowing, do I need to go back and delete this file again:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
"Extension"="rilphone.dll"

Or does installing a new ROM not affect it?

Thanks!

You probably should.

My GPS is now working using JD's ROM...however, I have to boot up GPS Viewer beforehand, which also takes quick a while to get a lock before Garmin or Google Maps will work nicely...

Will Quick GPS help? If so, where can I DL QGPS? I searched, but can only find hacking info and config files....thanks!

im using JD's 6.1 rom, and everything (GPS, etc.)was working fine. For some reason my GPS will not work anymore. Double checked everything, but no matter what program i use, it will not work. Google maps says that the GPS receiver is not responding.

My location is of course set to "on" and GPS configured for port 4 and b/r of 4800. At this point I really dont care until we get a stable working version.

Also for some reason with the new rom, the phone program will not work. Ill keep pressing the talk button, and nothing happens, and a soft reset fixes it. I even stopped cprog.exe and of course the OS re-activated it but it still didnt work.

I know there aren't fixes yet, but just reporting bugs.

and just to update, the picmail site hack is needed to view pic mail as normal. Just like all of the other unofficial roms. (this may have been discussed already)

For those of you wondering what happened to the rest of the options in the phone/options dialogue (where you would initiate an IOTA), I found where to turn them back on in the registry:
HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting
All of those "Hidden" options you see there...set them to "0" rather than "1". Voila. Lots more options become available.

I'm running the alltel rom i've tried JD's rom but I can't get the GPS working with it, i use the alltel rom and it works great GPS is accurate and finds a gps signal in < 1 minute. but i don't know why JD's rom wouldn't work for me with GPS

I had a similar issue for some reason the GPS turns off after some time or after the phone goes into standby. I used the GPSKickStart program found here...

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=25027

and now all I have to do is use it any time the GPS wont start, and bam its good again.

Edit: A Soft Reset also does the trick but gets annoying to do so after a while.

(Sorry for double post)
