My wife is the proud owner of a brand newly refurbished TP... Her TP had issues and the Sprint store replaced it with... ANOTHER TP. You guessed it.
lol.
Too bad I used her upgrade to get my TP2. lol.

Re: Sprint NOt replacing Pro1 for Pro2 everywhere.

I've been with Sprint for over 10 years and never hassled them for an upgrade on a phone. Last week I was sick of my Touch Pro and all its defaults. I went round and round on the phone with them and then went to the sprint store to close my account. I told them I was going to AT&T and get an iPhone. The sales person left for a few min. and then came back and replaced my Pro with a NEW Pro 2.

So...For now I'm happy!

I feel the same way you do. I just swapped my original Touch Pro (busted GPS Antenna) for a refurb and the most my store would offer me was a Touch Pro, Treo Pro, Snap, and Blackberry. The Touch Pro2 was currently in stock and was currently being sold at that store. Anyways long store short no dice.

Honestly i was checking the spec on both devices and besides the increased screen size, use of sim card (GSM) and added bulk of the Touch Pro2 I can't find a good reason to upgrade anyways. I mean seriously $350.00 after rebates. I can't part ways with that much cash for a phone only to use half of it's functionality. The ability to switch band to GSM is really not that important unless you flying internationally alot. I have enough to worry about with just my Sprint Bill. Why would i want to go out and get another with prepaid sim cards or an additional rate plan all together.

Oh! well just my 1/99 of a 1/2 cent.

I concur....wait until there's something substantially better if they don't swap it out for free.

Yeah, I'll be on my third TP1 on friday. I got my second today and the keyboard doesn't work out of the box. I complained and asked for a different phone, the only different phones they'd offer me was a moto q9c, ha yeah right. thats what I replaced with my TP. This was via Alltel, not sprint. They have the worst tech support. I was so furious when I got through to them, my cell is my only phone and I had everything they needed and they would not let me replace till I called from another line.

I'm with you on that! As much as i want to upgrade my TP1, i just don't see the benefits in doing so. Spending 350 is a little much for a phone that pretty much has the same functionality.
