Alltel Touch Pro Flashed with Cricket Trying to Use on Verizon....
 

I have an Alltel HTC Touch Pro that I bought off of someone and it was flashed at some point to Cricket software. Problem is I guess you could say the core software was flashed also. I went to register it with Verizon because as most of all Alltel was absorbed I can register it with them since I was prior Alltel. I tried to register the phone but it still somehow has "core" Cricket software on there even with a flash back to the original Alltel ROM. Is there any way to possibly do some type of complete flash back into the Alltel software so I can register it with Verizon?

Usually flashing a stock alltel rom will do the trick.. the problem most likely is that it has a cricket PRL installed on it. I'm not sure if flashing a STOCK alltel rom will cure that or not, but it should reset your EPST settings back to alltel.. Then you could manually load an alltel prl

Not exactly sure on how to go about doing that though. So if you could give me a suggestion on how to I'll give it a try. Also I guess another noted thing I'll say is when I call to do the activation with the phone for verizon that is when I know it still has Cricket stuff still on there because it tries to do the programing via Cricket and not Verizon.

yea, the there is a cricket prl on the phone.. that's why it tries to program via cricket.. go to the cdma upgrade section and do a little research. I'm assuming the phone is unlocked so check and make sure, then find a STOCK ALtell rom and flash it. Then dial *228 and see if it still tries to OTA from cricket. If it does then you are gunna need to put an altell prl on there too if the stock rom doesn't fix that.

you will need to dial ##778# when in dial pad. it will let you edit pst settings. if it was full flash to cricket the code will be 000000, on rare chance 333333 as those are the only 2 msl codes that work with full flash, then scroll down to prl and edit it from there. you will need the prl on device or sd card for edit to find it. if those codes don't work, your stock rom changed them and you will need to search bafmsl to find cab and how to use it.
