Getting a replacement, should I flash back to stock

Hey Everyone!

I'm running EnergyRom and had my Touch Pro up to the service center this evening because my vibrate motor was sounding like a duck. The Tech took it apart, fixed the motor, but then the screen wouldn't turn on. He took it apart again and got the screen working, but the vibrate wouldn't work at all, so he decided to order me a replacement.

Here's my question. When I go back to get the replacement, do I need to be back to the stock ROM? Will they actually do anything with my phone, or will they just activate the new phone? If they're just going to activate the new phone then I might just leave it as is.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, I would suggest you flash to a stock rom and relock.

Here is the link for the latest shipped SPRINT ROM.

Yes definitely. If they notice a custom rom they will refuse to work on it, I believe they consider the warranty void also.

Actually I've got no chance to flash back. The morning after I had it up to get it worked on I noticed it wasn't charging either. The battery only lasted a couple more hours before going dead, and I had to call sprint to swap phone #'s with my Treo Pro until my replacement gets here. With no way of charging it there's no way of flashing back, so we'll see how it goes!

As far as the tech goes, there was actually two different ones that looked at it on different occasions, plus various customer service reps, and none of them even noticed that I was running 6.5.1 and that it wasn't stock. Interesting?

I would never risk it, you just never know. ALWAYS flash to stock if you are taking your phone in for repair/exchange.

Its probably better to be safe then sorry, But the last tech that worked on my phone was running juicys rom, so really it all depends on what store you go to and who is working on your phone. Younger people seem more understandable that software doesnt break hardware..... normally.

I've had my previous TP worked on 3 times and I never flashed back to stock. Their warranty voiding technically is only on the software side if you flash the ROM but it is pretty much true from what I understand, even if you install 3rd party unapproved applications. They won't help with that either. But like my power button wasn't working anymore, that can't be because of my ROM so they just worked on it. I have only brought it in for hardware issues.
