Obviously you are speaking from experience right?

I've done it plenty of times, specifically with MR and the original. Wanted to compare the PRLs, PRIs, and GPS performance. Everything works fine. HTC just has a generic warning on their updates.

Sometimes it matters, sometimes it doesn't. In this case it works.

Sadly all of those issues most Sprint employees will blame on the fact that the phone is Windows Mobile....

I know that there is work arounds for #2 and #3....
As far as the phone resetting, I've only had that happen with bad flashes on custom roms...
I never use stock, the TP having such a good community following here for custom roms is atleast half the fun of owning the TP....IMO
My fix 99.99% of the time is to flash back to original Shipped Sprint rom and then flash to whatever I choose.....

As far as the hotmail issue, I've always had the live setup and if that causes problems I download and install a new live/bing cab but thats only happened once and it was my fault for taking it out of the kitchen I used...

I agree its a PITA to find time to go to the Sprint store but realistically the TP's faults/problems are more HTC's and/or M$ faults then Sprint's....
When I visit Sprint, I take that in consideration and treat the reps how I would want to treated by a customer if I was in their shoes....

I have even mentioned how horrible the phone reps for Sprint are to the store employees and they agreed quietly with me....lol
I have never had any issues when I went to the store for repairs....
Go in there calmly and professional and see what they can do....

If your real goal is to try to get the free TP2 then you should read the "Sprint replacing TP with TP2" thread on the general TP board to give yourself a higher probabilty of that happening....
From casually reading the thread it has been very rare that anyone has gotten Sprint to do an exchange of TP for a TP2 over the phone....
You may have to go to a couple of stores and/or wait til the TP2's are in stock...

I have held off from doing this because fo the hassle and the last refurb TP I got is holding strong!!!!

I came mighty close to getting the $50 plan but decided 2 lines of $30 sero plans would prolly be enuff....

Just some things to consider and research before you pull the plug on your sero account.....

Your pricing estimate for the Tmobile sounds like a low estimate if you gonna try to duplicate what you have with Sprint....i.e data, text mess, etc....
But what you and your wife are paying combined now will probably be around what your paying, most likely more, on a family plan at Tmobile....

In my area 2 phone fam plan with tmobile
Service no contract = $110.00 with 750mins, data, texts

service with contract = $60.00 with 750mins but not including data or texts adding data and texts to both lines will get you up close to $110.00

there is a slight chance you could get Sprint to clone your current sero plan to add a line but combined pricing will still be up there and then you have to deal with over the phone customer service....lol

Customer service on the phone is horrible and if you come off the wrong way it will only go even farther downhill....
It's amazing how bad the phone Sprint reps are and crazy that couple years back they were even worse...lol
1st timed I called years back the rep barely spoke english...
If I didn't have Sero, I wouldn't have Sprint

That will get you back the ROM that you are used to using on the other Touch Pros you had, which will address your messaging issues.

Only if the phone is still behaving funny, perform an EPST reset.

You need your MSL, MSID, MSN (your phone #) which Sprint can give you or you can get yourself from the ESN swap website.

Menu->Reset
It'll probably ask you for your MSL.

After the phone resets itself, verify your MSID and MSN are correct using ##MSL#

When that is done, update your vision profile using Settings->System->Update Profile

There, your phone is now factory fresh with the original ROM Touch Pro was shipped with way back when it was released.

HTC also advertised that the TP was a top of the line phone.....
HTC also obviously thought that their build design was good.....

Besides I did this numerous times to my TP and my phone is just as it was when I bought it brand new....
Also how much knowledge or experience do you have with flashing? I've read you anti-flash posts here, your sig, need I say more......

lol I applaud you honestly i HATE sprint. In the two years I have been with them I have had to call in atleast once a month, sometimes once or twice a week. with issues. USUALLY its their billing methods- like charging me twice for a phone I already paid for, or charging me for data when I have an unlimited data plan.
Its a never ending struggle. I would have switched by now but I have 2 GOOD reasons for not switching....

1. *Ahem* thanks to a certain credit score of mine, (A work in progress given my age) everyone wants HUGE deposits. ATT for example wants a 700 dollar deposit. When I signed up with Sprint, they only wanted 100.

2. Uhmmm have you seen the competitor phones? ....I mean really? TO ME, the verizon phones are boxy, boyish and ugly. Keep in mind however I have not looked at any of their phones since before android came out. So they may have stylished up a bit.

ATT- instead of common phone colors, they go with odd shades of gray and green and PURPLE for crying out loud. I'm a woman god dammit, and a fan of sex and the city. I demand something PINK AND DIAMOND STUDDED!.....however the TP suffices

Alltel- Is not even available on the west coast last time I checked.

Cricket- Sh!tty service, refurbished phones that break just by looking at them, and as for their "ppc" phones, the OS is "generic" which is fine if you dont care about installing windows apps on your phone. And for one of my jobs, I am required to have a WINDOWS mobile phone.

Boost mobile- from what I have heard they have pretty goood service, but their phones are expensive, and you have to buy a phone from them to use their service. Occasionally they have a cute phone.

T-Mobile- I actually dont have a problem with t-mobile phones, I just dont like t mobile. I love the look of the G1-G3.

I agree i could have been nicer, BUT, why do i have to know the in's and out's of dealing with a CSR?? why do i have to call back when i get a rep blaming me for my problems? That is the problem with CSR in the first place, they dont know anything, and more importantly, they dont care about trying to resolve the issue. they blame issues on the customer, why else would i begin to raise my voice with them?? Every time i call in i think to myself, i am going to be calm and cool with the rep, i am not going to raise my voice. every time they manage to give me the run around on the issues, force blame upon and insult me. Now if you can be calm when you are being treated like crap, then kudos to you. but I for one do not appreciate poor service and a lack of respect for customer.
Im sure they have me pegged now on my account, which is again extremely biased, because THEY are the ones entering the notes. I really wish i recorded the conversations, i am sure you would see why I am so upset.

You are right, i did want a TP2, after 4 TP's it is getting annoying, and honestly i figured with a TP2 i wouldnt have to call back to support with issues with the faulty TP.

Everyone is pointing out i need to be nicer, and i dont disagree, i let the little things bother me. like explaining everything to a rep, to have them transfer me and HANG UP. ITS NOT LIKE THEY DONT HAVE MY PHONE NUMBER TO CALL ME BACK!!!!! Then i have to explain it again, the frustrating process already starts. when that happens 3 times in 3 hrs, yeah, im not going to be happy with them.

First off, i didnt say i was super smart, just simply i am not an idiot. I appreciate all the advice for fixes but that wasnt my intent. i got a replacement for my last TP, and the day i set it up, there are more issues than with the TP i sent in. That to me means i shouldnt have to try and troubleshoot the phone they sent me, they should simply replace it. If you buy a BMW 750 off the lot, and it has issues, would you try to troubleshoot these problems even though you probably could figure it out? no. you take it back and say i want one that works.

I have had sprint since my mogul..i and i wish i still had that mogul. I was with Tmobile for 10+ yrs before hand, and they treated me much better.

Most of the issues you seem to have are related to the new ROM and/or need for a hard reset.

There are workarounds for many of the issues, but chances are you'd find something else different with the new ROM that you wouldn't like.

Since most of the replacements are now coming with the new ROM, chances are high if you got it replaced with a TP, you'd have the same problems. It's up to you.
