? About Ins Claim on Alltel TP
 

I went to what used to be the Alltel store this morning, where I worked for three years, hoping to come out ahead, but was told they no longer do claims in store. He said I'd have to go through Asurion, and unfortunately the refurb Verizon TP is what people have been getting.

What have you guys been getting as a replacement? If I'll be getting a refurb Verizon TP to replace my Alltel TP, I'll just deal with the problems I've been having. Thanks for any input.

I live in the Alltel going to AT&T market and was just in last month for a insurance claim was issued a brand new TP ($95) for my 6800 that I dropped and broke the screen on. A week later, I was back for a warranty claim on the brand new TP cause the keyboard stopped working and was given another brand new TP.

some alltel places were sold to AT&T and some to Verizon depending on the location. i think 15 or so went AT&T

Apparently Alltel in my area is being sold to ATN: Atlantic Tele-Network. Anyone heard of these guys?

id be pretty pissed if i was given a refurbished phone without agreeing to it first. maybe if you complain enough they will give you something better. i know with sprint if you have your phone replaced thru them 5 times, they end up shipping a better upgrade.

Whats wrong with your Touch Pro? Is it really an insurance thing or can it be covered under warranty?

I got my Alltel TP replaced under warranty with a TP2. They first sent me a Verizon TP and I called them and told them I would not accept that phone as a replacement. They asked me if I would take the TP2 and I said hmmm, I guess :P

However, I later found out that this was their own incompetence as the Alltel Touch Pro was available the whole time.
