DA_G's Thread on XDA Developers Closed by Microsoft

Looks like the party may be coming to a close. Is this a big hit for ROM developers or not?

These are bogus letters, and they have been sent out before. The site Admin is just covering her a$$....it'll blow over. Besides the TP2 unlocker was just released, so they can't possibly end the party now.

i don't believe it's real. I'm just a doctor though, not a lawyer. Seems strange that microsoft would EMAIL a cease and desist letter. That's the kind of think that needs to be mailed certified. It will take a few days to sort out I bet.

+1 on not being real. If you look at some of the more recent pages in his thread, you'll see tons of people (including a lawyer [so he says]) that point out many mistakes and obvious signs of being a fake email. I wouldn't stress, I just don't know why the Admin didn't see it. Better safe than sorry I suppose...

i may be wrong, but i thought that the big hitters (htc, microsoft, etc....) quitely watch these threads and leak things so that we could check them and tweak them for development. if that are true, why would they cut off their own leg?

If they sent letters two one they would send them to all

Plus it was sent "on behalf of Microsoft Corporation" and they ask... "Please advise us regarding what actions you take".

Sounds like a hacker who finally managed to get 90% of their English correct!
