what is polling the towers??
 

what exactly does "polling the towers" mean??

im having problems right now... my phone is recieving text messages late.. does that mean i need to change my polling rates??

ex... ill send one text.. then i'll try to send another to someone else seconds later, but it wont send.. im thinking its b/c the person i first text is txting back... but the text(from the first person) doesnt come in till like 10-20 minutes later.. but the timestamp on it will have a late time on it..

polling is how often the phone sends a signal out to a tower to retreive calls,messages,data.
