U.S Cellular htc touch pro.
 

I recently bought an htc touch pro from US cellular and i am wondering if i can unlock it and use new roms for it. i m asking because everything seems to be for Verizon or every other company except us cellular and i don't want to brick my phone. Thank you.

i believe you can u just need to find a rom that requires a carrier cab file... for example for the herman on this page you would choose the uscc cab

I unlocked my USSC phone and these are the Roms I have tried they all work better than stock.

MightyROM6
SsS-ROMv0402
NFSFAN (currently using)
Demolition 6.5

I really like NFSFAN it has been very stable for me, I would not go back to Stock.

Thanks for telling me it works on USC. I already installed mightyrom6 but not before hitting a steep learning curve, but in the end i got it and now i realize how easy it is.

i have us cellular and flashed and am using mighty rom6 as a test and its working great.

US Cellular customer here as well. MightyRom 6 is what I'm using right now as well. Its clean and as close to stock as I've seen. I hate using a Rom and its loaded with software that I have no use for or either its loaded with millions of fancy icons and color schemes. I just want a ROM that looks and acts just like a stock WM 6.5 install.

I have unlocked and flashed to NRG's Rom. You dont need the carrier cab.. but there is a little bit you have to do to get MMS working..

I have a USCC touch pro and I'm running Mighty Rom 6. The only thing I cant figure out is how to get my MMS messaging back. Anyone know the fix for that? Other than that I love the rom.

Try post #6 that is how I got mine to work it worked on all the roms that I used.

Ok I did that and that allowed me to revieve the mms. Thanks!

However now I have a seperate problem. The mms message shows up in my inbox ok. To open it I have to click the download button inside of the message, but that download button is grayed out. I restarted the phone and then its lit up white, but when I click it nothing happens and then it goes back to gray. Any ideas?

Also I'm getting the message "Message Delivery Failed or message recipt failed." when trying to send an mms picture message.
