Psycho, can you find the folder where the text files are saved using file explorer and select blocks of them at a time and delete them in groups until you have cleared them all ?

no i dont know where they are even. i dont know anything about the sms/mms files. what the extensions are or even where to start looking. i would assume in the /windows folder but where i go from there i have no idea.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think they are stored in the phone's database.

they are stored in \Windows\Messaging\, along with emails

go into texts. hit menu then tools and then Clear "SMS"

yeah i have done this, but it just takes SOO freaking long for them all to delete.

4MB of messages, all in memory-mapped files, will take a while with a, what, 528mHz processor, to delete, which includes re-doing the virtual database indexes and "databases".

Fact of life. May as well complain because the sun rises in the East instead of in the North.
