Alltel Roaming Issue
 

Got a new tp under warranty and phone will not go out of roam. Took it back and the techs at alltel/verison said phone was broke and had another sent to me. Same problem with that phone. Newest rom update came with it. Will not program *228 have to do it manually. Seems when the signal strength is not good it switches out of roam but when Im some where its good goes into roam. All programming for area correct. Any help??

Is it set on the correct SID? If you don't know which SID is right for your area, call them and ask

Yep, has the right sid...... Alltel/verison have no clue how to fix it.

You have the old PRI but have the new rom. I would update to the new PRI if I were you. You can update the pri by using the PPST cab that is in the new rom, or you can just flash the new rom following the instructions here http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownloa...at=2&dl_id=601
If I were you, I would just flash the new rom.

did you follow the flashing instructions on the htc website? you can't flash from bootloader or via microsd card. you have to do it with your phone on the today screen and using activesync, just like the website says. If you did do it that way, then just get the ppst cab out of the shipped rom exe by extracting it with winrar. Then install the cab on your phone device, not storage card, then open file explorer and go to the Windows directory and open the PPST file. Then your PRI will update. Then when it's done rebooting, dial *228 option 1

do you activate after flashing? ( *228 )? it should of given you PRL 40055 if not try that manually.

I did flash with activesync and it completed. *228 still states unable to program. I extracted the file but didn't find a ppst cab file. There is,PPSTPatch, PPST_090219_HermannC_Alltel_2.00_delta.sa, and LaunchPPST. I dont know how to manually change the prl.

Not sure why but it took awhile for my phone to update the pri on its own after the rom update, I tried *228 it worked and my phone programmed and is finally out of roam. Thanks for all the help guys..

for future reference *22804 forces you out of roaming to activate or update the phone as well
