Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!

Ive been gettin my replacements from asurion and actually after my 4th refurb doing the same crap. I have issued me a tp2...but what sucks is they have to still get the last tp I had in the mail and my stupid self put it in the ups drop box instead of mailing it out usps...ugh this sucks I hope they get that sorted out quick so my tp2 can be on its way. but who knows with these holidays....

o yeah when they gave me my options on replacements they said the htc snap, palm pre, and tp2 of course you know what i chose.

wish me luck and good luck to you peeps.

I'm assuming you had to pay $100 deductible with that?

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!

That's interesting. I was told to call Asurion for replacement by retentions as well. I called and was asked their 3 questions: did you drop it, was it lost/stolen, is there water damage? Since I answered no to all 3 questions, I was told that they have to cancel my claim. She explained, and tried to be nice about it, that Sprint's telling me to call Asurion for replacement was basically insurance fraud. Their service only kicks in when its not mechanical/electrical malfunction.

What about for people who actually pay for TEP? The $7/mo goes towards both insurance and technical issues. So who is suppose to deal with the technical issues? Sprint?? They seem to be dealing with people the same, whether they pay for TEP or are in warranty (I'm covered both ways in my case).

I'm not entirely sure, I pay the $7 as well. I believe Sprint deals with technical issues regardless. If you pay the $7 you dont have to pay the fee associated with fixing the tech issue. If you don't have the insurance, you have to pay a fee for Sprint to repair.

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!

NO.....I had lost my tp (after getting 3 replacements before I lost the one that actually worked). So i had to pay the deductible for asurion to replace the one I lost but the phone that it was replaced with had issues and so did every one after I think its been like four 3 refurbs and 1 new in the box. So I paid a deductible when I lost that one but not since.

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!

@Abicio

NO this is only true if the phone they have given you as a replacement is not at fault. so if sprint gives you a phone and its junk then no you have to go to sprint to get another. but say you lose it and you talk to asurion and they say ok we will give you a replacement tp for the 100 deductable and you say ok.....then the tp they gave you starts acting up ...you can call them back within a year and they have to replace that phone for free and if they dont have them anymore give you something of equal or greater feature/cost. In my case they replaced 4 of my tp after the one I lost and non of their replacements worked so they said they would ship me out a brand new tp2 at no cost. Soon as they recieve the previous phone I was suppose to send back ....might be a while for that because my dumb self put it in the wrong drop box ups instead of usps.

Re: Sprint replacing Touch Pro with Touch Pro 2!

@tc3jg

Hmmm... my initial TP came from Asurion because the previous phone was stolen. I paid $100 deductible, and got them to send me a TP. But I went through Sprint when I had problems with it, and I've gone through 4 refurbs with them. Do you think I could call Asurion and they would have me on record as getting a TP from them, or did I screw myself because my latest faulty refurb TP is from Sprint?

call sprint, asurion only replaces lost, stolen, or water-damaged phones. if you do call them, they might try to make you pay the deductable.
