It seems that I have had better luck in the 3rd party repair centers than in the actual corporate stores.
In the corporate stores they try "triage". In the 3rd party repair centers they automatically order a replacement. Waiting for the TP2 to make it in stock so I can order my replacement. |

Just reporting back.
I went to my local Sprint Store Fri night. Again, my issues are legitimate with the 3 Pro's I have on my account. The tech was swampped with 14 phones to fix because they were so shorts handed. Everyone in the store knows me except for this particular tech. Needless to say, the swapped me for another TP1. He ordered a new one for me. One of the other guys who knows me told the tech to swap it out now for me just so I'm not without a working phone. I got a refurb, which doesn't really bother me. Anyways, the store was past closing. I left and wouldn't ya know it, same probs with refurb as soon as I hit the parking lot. Anyways, I went back to the store 1st thing Sat morning. same people there as well as the others that I know. I still had the plastic protectors on the phone from last night. They asked was I thinking about changing Handsets since I've replaced my phone so many times. I said yeah. The offered me the BB Tour. I don't do BB. they offered me HTC Snap. I said no way. They said well we can just order you a TP2 then since they don't have any in stock at this store. I said cool. The killer part is that Sunday, I went back in with the other 2 TP's and Diamond on my accout. All having legitimate probs. The Techs simply said because it's me, they replaced the other 2 TP's with TP2's too. I should have them like Wed or so. Finally, the Diamond is my sons. He replaced it with the HTC Hero (which they just put on display that same day)! I'm a happy camper. |

I feel for yall out there with legitimate problems with your TP, but it kills me when people complain about not getting their phone replaced with a TP2. Why do you feel like you're entitled to a free upgrade? EVERY PPC is going to have problems, that is just the bottom line. When they started replacing Moguls with TPs it was the same exact thing. Half of you probably got your TP for free at that time and now you want a free TP2!? And you know what, the same thing is going to happen when the next phone drops, all of a sudden your TP2 will be the worst phone ever made and you'll be demanding it get replaced with the latest and greatest.
If you want a problem free phone then you should stay away from PPCs and get a flip. Thanks for reading my rant and have a good day! |

I just got back from the Sprint Store in Alexandria,VA off Manchester Blvd. They tried to fix my phone but couldn't do it so they were like "we'll order you another one". Then I pulled out the memo and told them about it. They were like "how'd you get that?". Then they were like we'll see what other phones we could get you. I was like I want the Touch Pro 2. They said it was out of stock, so I have to try again later. Let me know if you guys get a success story guys!

I just went to a Sprint Repair Store on Stevens Creek Rd. in San Jose, CA and they said they got the memo but the list of phones are, Palm Pro, HTC Snap, or the same Touch Pro. WTF? If I try to call Sprint they say I've had my phone replaced too many times and have to take it to a store for an exchange.

A representative at 34th st in Manhattan says that the memo was proprietary sprint information that should never have been illegally made public, but at that location they will not honor it partly because TP2s are out of stock.
This representative said that nobody will get a TP2 because they have not been released yet. I didn't challenge that because I have not read a report yet of someone saying they have a TP2 in hand. Maybe that will change tomorrow. This will be my third TP. If there are problems, I'll go from there. At some point, someone at Sprint Corporate calculated that it would be worth it to move all TP repairs to different phones, including the TP2. I have a feeling this policy may be rescinded at some point. I wish I had gotten to the store earlier, but that's a lesson learned, and to be balanced with other things I have to do in life than get my phone keyboard working perfectly or a new phone. At some point, I'm pretty sure the refurb will start acting up. Hopefully it will last at least until they've unlocked the TP2 so I can put a custom rom onto it. |

I was having hell getting a store in houston to even recognize the memo or know what i was speaking of. Ended up seems that the third party stores are the best bet and on top of that if they cant see the TP2 available have them call sprint to refresh the system thats what the tech did at the store i went to and now I too have a tp2 on order WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO .... even though its suppose to be a refurb ;-)

Just throwing my 2 cents in... Friday after 2 different store visits, and 3 csr phone calls a retentions person said she would replace w/TP2... only 2 find they were oos... she said she would follow up Monday (today) and call... low and behold no phone call. None of my local stores have any in stock... so I used the chat function on Sprint.com and during the chat the person confirmed that at least NIB were in stock... am going to try 3rd party store today with print-out in hand to see if that gets me anywhere.

I just went to a Sprint store and they said they wouldn't do it. I called Sprint and they wouldn't do anything too. I was very nice and just disconnected my services. I pay too much for the 5 phones I have. Oh well, Sprint. bye bye

You know, Ive been to my repair center for numerous issues, Im on my 3rd TP, well I go there and tell them look, Im having intermittent issues with keyboard, random calls lock my ringer to on till I reboot, I get battery random overheating in my pocket, all honest and annoying issues, the worst being calls going straight to voicemail. They do a reflash (which I obviously have done) and hand back my phone. They said the phone did not have issues while they were troubleshooting it and they cant do anything to help me. I call tier 2 support they put a note on my account and say go to the repair center I shouldnt have any problems. I call them and say even with a note on your account your phone has to have problems while they are troubleshooting it.........so back to step 1. My mogul was awesome, TP not so much. My repair center is starting to really annoy me too, especially when they troubleshoot my phone with a reflash everytime. I know how to do that tyvm.
