Been reading this thread since september, and keyboard recently went out on my 4th refurbed phone (same issue with all 5 phones = KB). Called customer service since Self help website decommissioned. Same run-a-round as everyone else, was offered BB, Palm pre, and Treo pro. Advised they werent compariable phones. was transferred to escalations after 30 mins on hold, esc rep advised out of stock on TP2's.. so waiting after all that, waiting on my reburbed Touch Pro to me mailed out... To say the least no Fa-la-la-la-la for me this christmas!!

Well I've noticed that my phone doesn't always charge and that the battery life has gotten worse. Since November 2008 I've had 3 brand new phones and 1 refurb and finally I went in today. The techs tested it and they stated that the phone passed the tests however it was getting extremely hot and that they think that's the issue. They offered me the Palm Pro, HTC Snap, Blackberry Curve or the Touch Pro as a replacement. I told them in 14 months I've went through 4 phones and this would be my fifth and could I have a TP2 since I've had multiple issues and am tired of it. They wouldn't budge. I told them that I would call them and let them know which one I wanted before end of business day.
So I called Tech Support and told them my issue and they stated that they would replace mine with a Touch Pro 2 since I have had so many issues but it would be a refurb. I said I don't care as long as it works and works longer than 5-6 months. I then received an email stating that they ordered me a Touch Pro 2, we'll see if that's what actually shows up. |

Well (i 'pushed' and) got the Moment, at least itll be instore tomorrow for pickup. Turns out theres a damn good reason nobody is getting the phone they want for the TP1. Found out today that HTC themselves made the list up of phones that they will replace the TP with, or at least, reimburse Sprint for those trades. Thats why some people have been getting the run around on getting the TP2 (which i declined) or others.

so i just got back from a local corp store. they are ordering me a new tp1. they said my only other option is the snap.
asked about a tp2 before i left and was told no. got back home and tried ecare twice and was told i can only get the tp1 or use my upgrade. i'll try again tomorrow with ecare. |

Well I called and got my tracking number for the Refurb Touch Pro 2. I wish it was NIB however it's better than nothing. They said it will only be the phone and a battery. Anyone know of anything else the Touch Pro 2 comes with? I've looked in the Sprint Manual and it doesn't show a parts list.

I believe they were in stock again briefly part of Sunday/Monday. Almost got an order to go through but stalled at the end when they went OOS again. |

I've been checking out this thread on and off since it was posted sometime back. I went through 3 NIB TPs, had one keyboard replaced-making it 4TPs. I was pretty skeptical of trying to get my latest replaced, but after it started acting up in the last week I figured it was time to try my luck.
Sprint Repair Store BKLYN, NY--I went into the store (acted like I didnt know about the replacements), told the Rep I was having issues with device, Rep said "this phone has been recalled, we can replace your phone with a different model, Touch Pro2, BB, HTC Snap".....I shut the snap down immediately, after a few mins of him trying to sell me on the BB I chose the TP2........Ordered....should be instore for pick-up in 3days. |

HTC will tell you to ship the your device, at your cost.. youll wait atleast 2 weeks...and they usually ship you your device back and say its fine... all the while you paid for shipping, and were without a phone that whole time... HTC is not a good way to go...only if you have no insurance and are forced to play the Manf. warranty card..
and to above.. TP2 and battery...plus a charger... all yu get from a NIB TP2.. no case, no memory card... so your not missing anything |

im so sick of this effing BS. i just had my 7th tp ordered from a corperate store today that i drove 50 miles to get to. stupid keyboard doesnt work again & screen is in landscape. hell i might not even go pick it up.

I got my hero, i got it from the deals site... so i called to activate, they say i have to change my plan. Right now I have the everything messaging with 3 lines all with unlimited power vision... So the rep says I need an everything data. The only difference is unlimited mobile to mobile. Because everything that has to do with data i already have (unlimited because of problems in the past). They say it's just not possible to use the hero.
So for those of you who get TP2, do you have to change your plan? Because I'll just go start swapping phones out until i get a tp2 as well. Thoughts? |

Just got my NIB TP2 at my house! So far I love it!
To everyone still trying, keep trying. I confirmed again today with Executive Services that after three exchanges in six months, you are priority 5 on the WEL list, which qualifies you for a NIB TP2 as your next replacement. The OOS for refurbs shouldn't apply; that's only for Priority 4. Again, if you are being told you can't get a TP2 after three exchanges in six months, then you're either being deliberately lied to, or someone doesn't understand sprint's policy. However, they can no longer do exchanges over the phone, it all has to be done in the store. |

Unfortunately mine's going to be a refurb. Damn I was hoping to have that screen protector. I got UPS tracking via the phone today and it should be here tomorrow. While on the phone I did ask specifically if it were a refurb and they said yes and it was just the phone and battery.

I had stuff from my PPC 6700 in there, that I copied over from it's mini SD card... Then I did clear storage. :( Couldn't recover it either off the card or internal storage. Fortunately, I had synced my contacts to myphone about 2 weeks ago, so I only lost a few numbers. Still, to think I put so much energy into saving all my texts in case I ever needed one for something... then it's just gone. =\ |

Hi guys! Just wanted to share my success story! (somewhat) I've been following this thread since the beginning! I've gone through pretty much every channel I could think of in order to get my TP replaced to no avail! Even the guy I spoke with at Exec. Customer Care was not much help! (He was nice however!) They pretty much told me the same as everyone else. (Exchanges couldn't be done over the phone.) However, I've taken it into the store on several occasions, where we've tried everything to fix the different problems I've been having! So here I was on TP #8 or #9 and pretty much the same solutions as before. The rep at the ASC was very helpful and was determined to help reach a solution that was acceptable to me (Replace with TP2!) however his hands were tied! He could only order Priority 5 replacements which were NIB TP2s which I was ineligible for. So for nearly 2 months, I played the hit or miss game with them (pretty much calling and finding out that they were still OOS) However, after reading the last few posts where it states after 3 exchanges within a 6 month period, I'm automatically eligible for Priority 5 replacements, I used that to my advantage. I went to the sprint store (not the ASC) and re-explained the situation to them and reiterated the company's policy and what-do-you-know. It worked! When I got home and checked my email, I received the email that my order has been placed. I'm just waiting on the email confirming that I am indeed being shipped a NIB TP2! If so, it should be here NLT Monday! (I'll believe it when I see it!) I'll keep everyone posted.

All exchanges now have to be done in-store!
However, this doesn't change the rules, they're the same as they were when the thread started. If you have a Priority 4 exchange (which is any TP exchange), you get your pick of the lesser phones mentioned ad nauseaum, and a REFURB TP2. At this point in time, the refurbs are mostly OOS because it's a brand new phone that's pretty well built. If you've had THREE OR MORE exchanges in the past SIX MONTHS, you then become a Priority 5 exchange, which entitles you to a NIB TP2. This is Sprint policy! If the store is screwing you around on not giving you a NIB TP2 after your three exchanges, you need to tell them you talked to someone in Tech support who told you that there was something called a WEL List, and that you are what they called Priority 5, and you can get a NIB TP2, BUT ONLY AT A STORE. Stores try to deny you a NIB TP2 even if Sprint policy would give you one for a few reasons: they're hoping for a sale, they don't want to lower their stock any (if they have one in the store, then they give it to you there), or they're just being *******s (love the stars). Just remember, SPRINT POLICY says after 3 exchanges on the TP in six months, you can get a TP2. This is not something you should hesitate to pursue. In the long run, you're actually saving Sprint some money, because keeping the TP's in circulation is expensive for them. So you're being a good samaritan by getting your TP2. :) |

In fact, I believe I was on my 4th TP when the manager at my Corp store finally did a Priority 5 exchange for a Nib TP2. I don't think it was ever done there b/c the rep who helped me yesterday was shock I was getting a new TP2 and actaully asked the tech, "Is he really getting this?" before activating it for me. Hustla, while the memo states one thing the store's practice and the overall policy are what you are dealing with. Most stores know nothing about the memo, they all know about the "3 in 6mo" policy. Not to mention consumers really shouldnt know about an internal memo that is an exception to the rule on their most expensive phone (hence the general negative reception to it being brought up), but the 3in6 applies to ANY phone and is openly discussed via echat, tech support and so forth. It is a better line to work 3in6 if you are having touble with CS, of course do not ask for a TP2 just work through the options landing on the only obvious replacement.
Of course you know about getting TP2s since you are on the hook for 6 that you are going to give away. |
