Went to a 3rd party store in Conyers GA yesterday to get my 4th TP replaced with several legitmate issues went to the first one and was told their systems was down I would have to go to the other store. Went to the other store waited in line for about 20 mins for the guy to look at the phone for half a min just to tell me that he cant do replacements and I would have to call *2 and ask about the WEL program. Called Sprint Customer service and after talking to the agent first she told me they had a WEL program but she could not order a replacement over the phone so when I told her what the guy at the store told me she called him. The funny thing is she asked me to go back to the store and all of a sudden says that Sprint doesnt have a thing called a WEL program lol issues. Anyway I go back to the store and the guy tells me all he can do it order me a Blackberry Tour because the TP1 and TP2 are out of stock im like ok. So then as Im about to walk out the store he says that my phone should be here by Friday im like wait didnt you just say the my phone was out of stock he says the TP2 is on backorder for at least 6 months then he says he might have a TP on Friday im like ok whatver.
Not sure if that means I will be getting a TP or a Tour who knows this run around is crazy ah well. |

So after my 5th TP started overheating I had an exchange sent out from Sprint Advanced Exchange. The phone they sent me to replace it had keyboard issues and no reset button it was strange. So I went to the Lynnwood, WA repair store showed them both phones and the issues. Explained that I needed a different model. The rep said no problem the next phone on the list is a Treo. I said no that won't work for me. He said sorry I have a list and I have to go right down the list. That's all you can have. I said I needed to speak with the manager as I know the TP2 is on the list and that's the only thing acceptable to me. I get mine tomorrow. The wife gets hers next week.

Argggg!!! I have had bad replacement phones too....2 in the last month..and I still got a TP1....Can I just go in and say I want a TP2?

Called around....and they WILL get me a TP2 if it is available to order....now I am on a 'list' and they will call me if they can get me one.. :) Pray I do...I love my phone...but with they being my 4th one...I don't want to chance more problems if I can get a new upgraded one, even since They are offering it ....

Well this is interesting... My wife and I brought our Touch Pros in last Monday and it was just when the TP2 was disappearing from the WEL for some people. It wasn't available for us but the tech kept our tickets open and has been checking to see if it becomes available so he can order them for us. It turns out yesterday our tickets disappeared from his system. He had no record of my wife or me, every trace was gone. He's been really cool about it from the beginning and has told us flat out that if the TP2 becomes available he'll order them for us, he has no issue with that, so I don't think he's lying about it. He has our info and we're calling every few days to see what's going on, but I wonder if Sprint is trying to cancel people's orders because they got a lot more tickets for TP2s than they counted on.

On Tuesday I went to the sprint store because my phone would not accept any charge from any car chargers and it would occasionally overheat. The technician then came out said he could order me a refurbish TP. I complained and I asked them about the wel list. They then informed me that is an option but the phones that are on the well list are the Palm Pro, blackberry, and the HTC snap. I told them I wouldn’t do that because that’s a downgrade from my touch pro. I went on to say what about the TP2 I herd that was on the Wel list. They referred me to the store manager who then came out and told me that TP2 is not on the well list. I pleaded with him and told him that this will be my 11th exchange of phone and I am getting frustrated. We then settle for him to order me a refurbish TP. He went to the back and got my phone and then he told me your phone should be here on Friday. He then blinked at me and said you might be surprised. I wonder when I go back to the store what will I have a TP or a TP2............... Well I just got back from the store and i was really suprised I was the first person from that store who recieved a TP2 as a replacement thanks to the wonderful infomation i recieved on here. Thanks a lot everyone. Looking forward to seeing everyone in the TP2 forums. So long TP1 and your glitchy keyboard.

So on Monday I called Sprint and spoke to technical support about my keyboard on my Touch Pro not working. Being as I have already had 3 replacements I was not able to get another done on the phone so they advised me to go into a corporate store and get it replaced but they said it would be the store managers discretion whether or not to give me a Touch Pro2. So I told them I don't have the time to wait in the store for the technicians to look at the phone so are there any other options. So she said she would escalate the case and to expect a call back within 72 hours. Well 72 hours came and passed with no call back so I called them back and got a nice representative who apologized for what happened and said she would get me a Touch Pro2 sent out as a replacement. Well then she said she couldn't do it without her supervisors approval and that she would call me back when she gets it. So after I hung up I called right back and asked to speak to a supervisor who then read the previous representatives notes and said she would honor it and then proceeded to order me a Touch Pro2 with overnight shipping! :) But since its after the 2pm EST cutoff I probably wont get it until Monday..

i am taking ls everywhere i go. 3 stores...10 calls...still no luck. i have faith this time around because the sprint csr has been VERY helpful. and he was pissed after i received an e-ticket to grant me a tp2 and they denied it. (in store)...im praying things go better this afternoon...ive been phone less for days :(

So the techs ARE able to order a TP2 even though it's not in stock in the warehouse? How are they doing this, manager approval lets them or what?

It ticks me off that there is no consistincey from one store to another or one rep to another. I shouldn't have to feel like I'm doing something wrong either. These phones have been problematic for most people and yet there is nothing anyone can do. When I heard about sprint replacing the TP1 with a TP2, I thought well that might solve my problems. However, I can't find the right store or the right rep. How can it be that some reps can do it and some can not?

this is how i understood things:
there is a sales inventory, and a REFURB inventory. people having probelms with there tp and need a replacement are supposed to be ordered on from the refurb inventory which is currently OUT OF STOCK. however if your reallllly lucky, you may get ordered one from the sales inventory which is a New in box phone. some people are getting lucky and getting those new in box, others including myself are eagerly waiting for them dam refurb ones to get to the warehouse! lol its been about 2 weeks for me, and still OOS. be honest, i think by the time there in stock (which may take FOREVER! lol) sprint is ganna be like, screw you guys, tp2 not option anymore! lol hope not tho, fingers crossed. |

On my 7th refurbished touch pro as of today. Speaker broke on the last one. Still was not given the choice of a TP2. I was offered the Treo Pro, or the Snap.

Hmm.. To all the people that get their defective TP's replaced: Does Sprint make you pay for it? I never paid when my other 3 broke but now my screen works 5% of the time (It never even likes to turn on or stay on for 10 secs..) And Sprint said I'd have to pay 100$ to get a new TP even with the 7$ insurance I pay.. Is that right?
I called because I was hoping they might let me get a TP2 since all the TP's they send me are defective.. |
