Will I lost my contacts or anything else when deactivated?

I wasn't 100% sure, but I was wondering if I loose any information such as my contacts on my Touch Pro when they deactivate my Touch Pro and activate my new phone tomorrow...

What about any other information? Or will it pretty much just be "shut off"? Could I still use the Wi-Fi on it?
