Sprint Touch Pro to VZW without mandatory data plan
 

I have a sprint pro ready to be used on verizon but i have this question:

How do i get it to verizon and avoid the crappy data requirement?

I assume if I could unlock it, flash it with a VZ antenna and new rom and such as i've read i can get it to be able to work on verizon. What i am wondering is how do i get me esn reg'd as a 6800 or similar such pre-policy-change ppc phone. I am always around wifi as a student at university and for the same reason can't justify the bucks for an unused data plan.

Any success with this by anyone here? Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Also, does anyone know how the other companies deal with this? Do they have the tie you down policies in effect to?

Sprint doesnt require you to have a data plan with the TP, but i do think so on the TP2 because of the push internet. Why go to VZW if you have a Sprint phone?

Not sure you'll have an easy time doing this. Big red doesn'treally like Sprint phones on their plans. Not saying it's impossible.
Just might be quite the challenge.

Most ppl use Blacklisted Sprint phones on VZW cuz the phones are no good on SPrint.

I'm sure as long as you have a vz prl. I may be wrong, but you might need a data plan of some kind for mms. And you should be able to use any radio (antini) for service for talk to work. I think vz has an unlimited talk and txt for 39 bucks and you shouldn't have to tell them or make them think it is an other device than what it is if all you want is talk.
