How to set IE as dominant browser..?
 
I've searched high and low, and I've even tried the 'Darkness231 Opera Default Remover' which did not seem to actually do anything unless there is a new setting somewhere that needs tweaked post install which I was not aware of...

BTW: I have the Verizon Touch Pro.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and likely rewarded too! :-k ;)

Nope, it still continues to launch Opera from the TFLO3D Tab... :(

In TF3D it is programmed to Load Opera I believe, it doesn't go off of the default browser. You would need to edit the corresponding manila file to have it open IE instead. Try to open another hyperlink such as from a text or email and see if it opens in IE, If so IE is your default browser and it is a coded into Tf3d.

Is anyone available to help locate the specific registry so that I can change the TFLO3D Browser icon to point to IE..?

I need the BROWSER icon in TFLO3D to open IE rather than Opera.

Is it worth $25 for anyone to do this for me..?

I'm using the Verizon OEM ROM, so that needs to be taken into consideration...

FWIW: I've had a series of mild strokes over the past couple of years, making the Opera links are a nightmare to activate since I have like NO feeling in my hands/fingers these days... I desperately need IE due to it's ease of use and familiarity and since I find it's far easier for me to use the TF3D, that's where I need the IE to be.

alright man, I looked through several manila files and I checked the registry as well, I couldn't easily figure out a way to do it. However there is good news I found this program which will allow you to change Tf3d to use IE instead, it does seem a little confusing but if you follow the directions verbatim it will work for this. I've downloaded that program but can't make heads or tails out of it, especially with the way the instructions aren't written... :banghead:

I posted a request on XDA to see if somebody ywould be kind enough to walk me through the steps necessary to make the 1 needed change over to IE.

I too have found nothing in manila files or registry, someone said there were XML's in \application data but on my rom they're not there. my VZW TP's screen has delaminated and is useless so I cannot do much there. Not sure if I could flash the vzw rom onto a sprint phone...

edit: it boots, sprint phone will run the shipped vzw rom. hmm.

edit2: i did it.. this is tested working on VZW stock rom! :-D

LOL RIGHT after I finished my cab to make the change... ah, oh well.. remember it for if you hard reset, it makes it a lot easier and doesnt even require a reboot. just a today refresh

Raidzero,

I had just finished installing the stuff that Heartisall linked me too and had PM'd him for his PP Addy when you posted {EDIT} that you did it... If you look at the time stamps, you'll see my post above is at 3:01 and your edit was at 3:04 which means that he won out even though his method was via searching for a solution which involved someone elses work.

I obviously can't swing $25 each, but if you guys are both ameanable to splitting it for your equal yet individual efforts, I could send you each $15. I sincerely hope that you will both agree to this. :)

haha, I know I was 3 mins slow... I would agree to anything, I am so broke it's crazy. I had to download and install the shipped vzw rom on a sprint TP to work this out. knowing that the vzw rom runs on sprint phone is good knowledge, can probably make some cool frankenstein rom ... but that's another thread... :)

I know what you mean about being broke... I custom design, install and maintain huge reef aquariums, but with the way the economy is, I'm not exactly selling too many $20k-$40k systems at the moment! :???:

I have a question about the entry <IncludeUserFavorites>True</IncludeUserFavorites>.
What favorites will be listed on the internet tab when this is set to true and how do you edit the list of favorites?
