Manila 2.5 VGA FULL SCREEN!
 

I saw this on XDA for manila 2.5. I have been waiting for TF3D to go full screen since it came out and hopefully this can be ported to Touch pro.

Well I tried it out and its still pretty buggy but it will be awesome as soon as all the kinks are worked out. Making it full screen really helps with Manila 2.5 on the Touch Pro! Check out the video I made:

Here is the exact ROM I used and cab file but please note that this version of manila 2.5 is not completely ported. Still cool to test and beautiful to see!

Hey, thanks for posting up the video man! Looks really sweet. I'll pass on trying it for now though. Unfortunately I have to stick to stable roms. I wish I had a backup touch pro to test this stuff out on....

It really wasn't all that unstable actually just the full screen part. I'm just happy to see it working at all, and if I can put it together I'm sure we'll get a fully stable full screen manila 2.5 any day now :headbang:

Full screen looks nice but how are you supposed to see your battery or reception? Also how do you access the start menu?

If you click the white tab on the bottom in the middle it will show you the normal menu bars with your signal, battery and start menu. Personally I never look at my reception and only check the battery every few hours.

See the little semi-circle tab at the bottom center of the screen, tap that and the task bars appear.

and this is where having the verizon touch pro really hurts as I am pretty cofident that my phone will not run that, heck I have to disable the dialer to get tf3d working okay :( anyone know if some pigs started flying today and verizon tp will run okay on this.

I believe this Manila 2.5 ROM is GSM but have no idea if it will work for the vzn tp:

yeah I know I am just saying that when it gets ported to cdma, I dont think Vz TP will run it, if it does it wont be smooth as TF3d has to be run without tachi dialer for me to get a good usage out of it.

HTC really wants to get rid of Windows Mobile :D It's such a bad OS for skilling with TF3d. Someday, they'll just ship an android rom for the Touch* series. Er, wait...

I use TF3D on a Verizon TP and have absoloutly no issues keeping tachi dialer...

You simply need to reduce the pagepool of your ROM to 12 or less.
a pagepool of 8 is probably suggested for running TF3D2.5 though.

Exactly. Start with a clean stable rom and 6 or 8mb pagepool. I'm currently running 9 and an SSK rom. Works great with TF3D and Tachi dailer. More ram would be better, naturally, but you have enough to work with if you don't go overboard on the apps.

What rom are you using ?

I'm using the JMZ rom w/ 2.5 and then use the Rotastrains fullscreen cfc uncompresses.cab but, the start bar on the botttom never goes away so I cannot get to the slider? What am I doing wrong? Wrong fullscreen cab? On the page you link to for the fullscreen cab it says to "terminate the manila fix"

wtf does that mean?

I used JMZ's rom also and didn't terminate the manila fix. I closed manila in settings>home screen, installed cab, reset, and had to use file explorer to search for a manila .exe to restart tf3d to re-enable settings>home tf3d. Hope this helps. Sounds like they are working on a simple cab install for manila 2.5 with full screen and other mods

Is JMZ's Rom useable? Last time i tried it was way slow and had lots of bugs

I only put the rom on my phone to see if the full screen would even work so I dont really know. It seems that JMZ's ported version of manila 2.5 vga is a few weeks old but they are gonna release a new cab install soon thats 100% ported, with full screen , and other mods! I cant wait!

I would totally try a rom other than DCD or Mighty just to try this. This is huge. Its like when my mogul got manilla - completely changed how I used the device. This looks much better than titanium.

so i decided to go with the latest rom from sprint that was just released the other day. is there any way that this would work on that rom? i'm unlocked and could run a custom rom, i just have decided to currently go back to stock for now.

when they release a cab install it should uninstall your current manila and replace it with manila 2.5. So far they haven't released packages for custom roms yet bcus there's new manila 2.5 builds

That cab file only works with WM 6.5 & Manila 2.5. If you are running stock ROM then most likely you have WM 6.1 & Manila 2.0. I've tried to get older manila to go full screen but its too buggy and there doesn't seem to be much interest since the new manilas are comin out soon

i just tried this on nrg's current 23081 rom with 2.5 1920 and it caused manila not to load

ya, mine would only load about half the time. when i did load it was much buggier and slower. i would recommend not waistein 2 much time tryin 2 get it 2 work (im sure it will work with 1920 soon :headbang:)

Actually it won't uninstall it will simply overwrite the manila files.
This is probably better if you cook it in anyway. It will eat up a ton of ram since the original Manila is probably in ROM and won't be removed really.

It's ok to use a cab to try it out but if you intend to keep it then cooking is the way to go.
