Re: Sprint replacing for TP2

Who knows if the TP2 will have similar issues or not? It is the same manufacturer....

Meanwhile, I picked up my 3rd TP1 replacement from Sprint today. Hooray for broken keyboards :/

u mean they didn't just replace the keyboard!?!?!??!?!? what is wrong with repair centers.... the keyboard replacement is so much better than a whole new device!

sorry I don't have anything to add but yeah it's funny how people have "SOO MANY" problems with their HTC phone but they want the newer one which is basically the same phone for the most part and will likely have the same issues. Luckily I haven't had that many problems with my phones...

Re: Sprint replacing for TP2

im verizon(Was alltel) not sprint, but this is what verizon did for me. So im on my 3rd tp,and i called, to get replacement, they said it would be alltel version, but it wasnt,so i sent it back after talking to them, only to have them call me back and say they no longer have the alltel tp in stock, and i would have to take the verizon version or nothing. Now since i bought my tp at retail, 47 days ago,i was pissed, so i took my receipt, box and phone to the verizon store, and started in on a 3 hour discussion with the store manager and a verizon cs manager from the texas call center. After being told that they would do nothing for me,as i used exchange on my phone and it wasnt supported by verizon, i informed them i was going to get a lawyer and have done with it if they werent willing to refund or replace my phone with the same phone, and i hung up,left and went to my lawyers office. Before We were done eating(i had brought lunch) verizon called, and i was told that they had been misinformed, and while it was true that they no longer carried the alltel touch pro, they would send me a touch pro 2 as a replacement, for the diffrence in cost, and since i paid more for my tp then they are selling the tp2 for,i would have to pay nothing, and they would next day air me the tp2. Im not saying this will work for you,but if your like me and have a receipt for 659.99 and have had your phone less then 60 days and have had more then 3 changes,i think your shot of getting the tp2 is good

Well they claimed that the keyboard replacements just fail, so the repair guy just ordered a replacement. I wanted to try a new keyboard but he said he doesn't even order any since they just break anyway.

The next nearest Sprint store is 2 hours away. ](*,)

Re: Sprint replacing for TP2

here is why i want a touch pro 2.

a.) HTC is well aware that they have been having serious issues with keyboard failure on the TP1. Product revisions will most likely fix current issues. This is a focus of any product improvement or new iteration of product family.

b.) Sprint TPs seem to be the only devices with KB issues, or at least CONSISTENT keyboard issues. Other branded devices haven't been having as many failures. This lets me know that it isn't an HTC-wide issue.

c.) I have liked my previous HTC devices, they were not without issue, but they were liveable. I'm not going to wine about some white spot on my screen with the mogul, or diminished battery life on my TP. I DO whine about not being able to use my phone as it was intended to be used consistently. I travel a lot for business and can't be replying to emails with garbled input, or no input at all, especially with working for a company where most of management is not greatly familiar with the english language.

i do expect minor problems with the TP2. I'm not going to whine about a few dead pixels, or some keyboard clicks, or what have you. I don't expect to have complete failure of an input method.

and to clarify, i'm not trying to get anything for FREE. I just don't want to pay 350 bucks for a device that works, when I paid almost that for one that doesn't.

Re: getting a replacement from sprint...

necrobumping to say:
6/16 i posted that they were sending me a new one
now it's 9/24 and i'm replacing again. seems these things have a 3 month shelf life.
i tried to get her to send me a touch pro 2 but they wouldn't budge and said that if it happens again i have to go to the sprint store for further help....
