Re: WiFi Always On
Yes I am looking for an app that allows me to turn on or off constant wifi. Ive been using the built in router but it goes off like normal wifi does when you turn the device off. I know this will kill my battery life by the way.

Re: WiFi Always On
well if you dont mind your device not going to sleep while on wifi..then maybe "DontSleep WiFi" is for you.

Re: WiFi Always On
Ill give that a shot thanks! Basically what Im looking to do is create a mobile Wireless AP that why my other WiFi devices will always have a connection when I need it. Hopefully with this I will be able to activate "Always On" quickly when I want to use another WiFi device, and then deactivate it just as quickly when Im done with it.

Re: WiFi Always On
then it is kinda like a "on"/"off" button, cause when you start "DontSleep Wifi", the wifi will turn "on" and the device will not go to sleep, when you are finish just close "DontSleep" and the wifi will turn "off" and the device will return back to normal.
it sounds like this is more less what you want, hope it works out for you. |
Re: WiFi Always On
Sorry took so long to get back to this post, but it actually didnt work. It would say it was running but the WiFi would still go off. Actually, could it be because I use S2U2 to lock the device when I press the Power button? If so is there anyway to use both at the same time cause I do want the device to lock so as not to do accidental presses in pocket but the WiFi to stay on, or am I asking for too much?

Re: WiFi Always On
Okay I just uninstalled S2U2 and still have the problem. Id like the screen to actually go off but the WiFi to stay on. Keeping the screen on and the WiFi would probably kill the device in 2 minutes instead of 4 ;-) Anyone have any other suggestions?
Huzzah! A quick google search turned up this set of regedits: http://www.dionysopoulos.me/en/artic...ws-mobile.html Not as handy as a switch I can quickly turn on and off but I suppose I can go into Comm Manager and just turn WiFi off when not in use. Looks like youll also need to use this hack to keep the DATA connection on as well: http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/treo-...tml#post472501 |
