Please help a newbie?
 

Hi folks

Ive just bought a touch pro, locked to the T-mob network in the UK. I bought an unlocking solution and it worked fine, so now it's unlocked. My question is this, If i now do a hard reset will it put it back to the spec that it was sold to ie: back to locked onto T-mob?
Likewise, would the same happen if i flashed a windows 6.5 Rom onto it, im looking to do the usual typical things that most users of the touch pro do with their phones ie:get the most from it, but at the moment, am frightened i'm going to re-lock it.

I've done the usual search on the forums, but as my search string was so specific, it brought back so many results i wont dare touch my pro until ive finished reading which would be about easter next year !

you shouldn't have bought anything. it's easy-peasy to do yourself
but to answer your question, no, hard-resetting won't relock the phone

you have to unlock the phone to flash a new rom anyway, so no, flashing your phone won't relock it

basically, nothing you do will relock the phone besides manually relocking it

http://go.mileka.com/to/e - relocker for CDMA Touch PRO. If you have the GSM version you need to get it from xda, read that thread and you should get some more insight into what "unlocking" and "relocking" is.

You can only "flash" a new rom without unlocking if it is digitally signed (aka if it comes from sprint, verizon, etc etc).

If you want to flash a custom rom you will have to "unlock" your touch pro FIRST.
