Data connection troubles...:

HTC Touch Pro
Sprint Carrier, with unlimited everything plan
Stock ROM with the most updated PRL that you can automatically update from phone.

Alright heres my problem. I used to get a solid connection, usualy one bar, or none, but it least stay connected. Now, it seems that it will connect, disconnect, connect back and forth. I cant keep a steady signal at times. It just started recently, it just seems we drop alot. We are trying to use phone as modem, using that WMWifi router thing.

With that said , I do have a few questions......

I read somewhere else, that the touch pro has an issue keeping a constant connection.

Are there things in my house that can be causing the signal drop or what not. I know they used to say DSL routers cant be beside a cordless phone.

Even tho I have the updated PRL, do some PRLs work better in diff areas, like a PRL for my area would work better then the updated one, if area ones even exist.
I have read about radios, and from what I THINK...they control how you connect to towers, so if thats true, would changing that help?

Anyway, Im just looking for a better way to get a signal for data connection, and it stays on.

I do have force roam on though, becaiuse I live by no sprint towers, and when I turned that off, I couldnt even make a phone call.

Anyway, Id appreciate any help.

Try the HTC Wifi tethering app instead of WMWifi. Try to use the USB cable way as well. There is a performance adjustment for the wifi as well. You may need to put it up all the way. I think it has a sleep mode when you are not constantly pumping something down to your PC or to the phone itself. Turning it up minimizes that but uses more battery.
