Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
I read one of the earlier post and didn't realize the amount of tax to be paid. this is way too high for a phone like this. I could understand the screen bigger and little more optimized being a plus but for me that 481 with tax 7% and then a rebate bringing it to 381. that is just crazy

The touch pro is still 299.00 on sprint and you can't even find them in the store. these phones are just ridiculously overpriced and will continue to be. |
Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
Ya but when the iPhone came out wasn't it something like $499 then apple dropped the price a couple of weeks later and people were just a little mad. I still think this price is like this so sprint can sell the pre and require you to have a simply everything plan. Only because they don't require any simply anything plans for the Touch Pro2

Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
With the same processor and memory as the TP - which already struggles with WM6.5 and tweaked roms on a 640x480 screen - I'd hate to think how sluggish the TP2 would be trying to drive 800x400... Up the processor and mem, and I might consider...

Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
this is gona hurt since im gona prolly pay retail or buy used since i extended my contract not long ago with no upgrade option. i just sold my pre cuz i did not like a lot of things it lacked to wait and save up for a touch pro 2 but this throws me off a lot... i might go with the hero

Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
I guess you all thought that "world roaming" GSM Radio was coming free? Sprint is targeting the Touch Pro 2 to the executive market who most likely have their phones paid for by their corporations. This phone will sell just as well as the last without issues...

Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
Regarding Sprint wanting to get customers on the SEP or have them switch to those plans to get the Pre, I remember customers asking Sprint why they had to switch plans in order to get the Instinct?
Their answer was that in order to use the full functionality of the Instinct, you needed the SEP because of the unlimited data. The customer would respond that they already had a plan with Unlimited Data which was less expensive then the SEP. Sprints response would be, well they didn't really have an answer. I agree that purchasing or switching plans is on Sprint's agenda as to one of the reasons why such there is such a High price for the Pro 2. But that will be short lived. |

Just like the Touch Pro. It is considered "EOL" and they have it still at $299.99. I remember the Mogul was $299.99 until it was taken down off their website. Maybe Amazon will hook you up like they did T-Mobile customers. |

Diamond all the way for me.
I was just chiming in on the price point of the Pro 2. |
Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
Agreed that clock speed is not painting the whole pictures. I did not know that the processors were different revisions. This has again peaked my interest. One thing is for certain - I would not plunk down this kind of money (with or without rebates) without first getting a good hands-on test-drive. I'd bring a loaded-up SD card with my main apps, and have at it.
I'm so sick of the TV commercials showing this TP just whipping through different menus, switching to camera, then album, then resize in real time. That's BS. Don't care what rom you have, none are instant. I'm on an Ambien high, just before the crash. I tend to get long winded... nite nite. enjoyed the dialog. |
Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
This price doesn't surprise me in regards to the history of HTC. It does surprise me in regards to how the market is shaped today. The iPhone which is pretty much the Cadillac of consumer grade smartphones is strutting its low end at $99 subsidized and $199 for top tier. HTC has always been viewed as a high expense almost luxury phone and they dont really seem to interested in shucking this image, except with T-Mobile.
I just picked up my Touch Pro for $99 on VZW and its not great, but at that price it sells. Assuming their TP2 has full RAM this time around as well as 3.5mm I would see $199 w/ contract a great price even $250 would be acceptable but $350 is beyond the pale. |

They might be, but those devices sure do not do what the TP does.

Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
Well, I'm personally not chomping at the bit to get a TP2, especially after seeing the price... then again, my contract expired back in March so maybe once the TP2 comes out, if I threaten to cancel my service maybe I can talk them into a break on an upgrade ;) ROFL... Actually, I doubt it will happen, but it would be worth a shot :)

Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
Do they really just hand people a TP2 when the your TP breaks? if that was the case people will purposely break it and save a bunch so i doubt itll be that easy
What i did with mogul - TP is told them I had to swap my mogul for another one over 7 times because of different problems thats my plan since i had 5 replacement TP but yeah 350 with 2 years and after 100 rebates thats just crazy |
Re: Sprint TP2 for $350
im thinking about getting mine from tmobile for 200, sprint versio is just too exspensive
|
Re: Sprint TP2 for $350

but they may be getting a bit more strict with it...considering people like me are on their 8th touch pro since april and still prone to issues they may give factory refurbs as new devices for the phone exchange I can't say sprint will do the same but verizon will for sure |
