Been there. That is a nice way to help out, but let me tell about what I ran into using 1&1 Hosting.

I had other users in the past offer hosting, so much I signed up. With 1&1 hosting they don't give you too many controls. With every download you to sign in to the FTP, and if you provide a direct link it includes that username/password. So what you run into is if Puff downloads the files it starts fine. Then when gadgetfreak starts the same download, it logs him in and kicks Puff off his download. This is not a good service for rom downloads.

What is everyone expierencing?

ive pm'd a few chefs whos work i like but never got a response. ive got a couple domains that i only use for email and have lots of free bandwidth. so i just did my sig and users seem to find it for themselves.

Hmmm I have other files hosted and have never noticed that. I will have to look into it.
