Agreed that caution should still be observed. nuePowerCPL has the temperature reading for the battery, but it may not work while in disabled mode.

Since we know it's not the battery that gets hot, we'd be more likely to see smoked radio chips, not an exploding battery. Most li-on batteries DO have built in thermal circuit protection as a redundancy. Testing is the only way to know.

I will edit the first post to put more emphasis on the potential dangers.

my VZN TP doesnt shut down charging till at least 40*c right now sitting on my hip its running at 30*c. plus, 30*c is only 86*F 40*c is 104*F and i have seen mine as high as 50*c so thats 122*F.

Odd. Using no2chems PowerCPL, I've noticed mine is cutting off when the battery reads any higher than 33*C. What utility are you reading the battery temp with?

Sweet. I wish I could donate right now, but the car just got a supercharger so I'm on the broke side.

Good to see this fixed, finally. I don't care if it blows up my phone, I'm just going to end up blaming Sprint for it. I've had 8 now, all of which I've taken amazing care of and they all have just had manufacturer defects. I really just don't care any more.

using no2chem's nuepower/backlight CPL v1.52. as i said, still sitting at 30*c. didnt check when it was charging. will check that tomorrow.

I'm so freaking ticked off with my Touch Pro and the GPS overheating and eventurlly dying off... I donated just so I can test this driver. Let it blew up my Touch Pro I'll sue Sprint for making a defective device from the getgo.

I'm surprised this hasn't been updated recently, I was wondering if this actually fixed people's overheating TP problems?

Edit: Guess I should say, 'does this actuallyfix the charging problems when the phone gets hot?'
