What color should the indicator be if the phone has gotten wet?

Mine is red... the guy that sold me the phone went w/me to alltel to get it activated and i even asked the alltel rep about the phone still being under warranty, and he said(more than once) warranty stays w/that phone. Surely he would have noticed the red indicator when he reset the phone??

are you talking about the water sticker on the back? sticker should be white with light red stripes, red means it's gotten wet.

You got it right :)

Solid red = water damaged

Striped red = clean and clear

just something to remember (i found this out recently). the markers apparently take some time to change color, so if you wipe the water off immediately, they wont change. My TP got completely submerged and filled with water last night and i pulled it out of the bucket, yanked the batt cover off, batt out, and wiped off the marker on the battery and the back of the phone. they were still white /w red stripes today when i went in to the sprint store to get a replacement ordered. I just let it sit in front of the fan all night to dry, everything was working fine this morning, then some things started acting up, so i decided to take it in (it was pretty beat up anyways), and they didnt say a thing about it being wet.

[edit] I just wet one of them to see if it would actually change, and it does, it just takes a minute for the water to soak in.

Moisture Indicator Tabs

Went to take my failed KB TP into store for warranty (4 months old) and they said warranty was void because the tab on the phone and battery showed that it had been exposed to water.

To set the record: this phone has never been dunked in water or been abused.

There are only 2 things I can think of:
1. I clean the phone periodically (vacuum, compressed air, moist rag). That's how my Apache lasted my those long years! The user manual clearly states that it is acceptable to clean the phone with a moist cloth.

2. Condensation forming during air travel?

Either way, how am I on the hook for this?
- I was never shown these tabs and instructed that if they turn red your SOL
- I did as the user manual stated

Any advice?

Can these tabs be replaced (battery is an easy fix by replacing)?

TIA

airplane is extremely doubt full...when the last time u were in a plane and there was condensation inside it....

ive posted pics a few time with what your indicator should look like..... all white, with red checkered lines...if its solid red anywhere, then that means water got to it
