Do different roms affect aftermarket programs?

This may be a silly/stupid question, and if it is please excuse me as i'm still new to this phone and learning all the different things about it, but ive read about different roms, and how they help increase speed and battery life among other things... My question is after installing a new rom, will i still be able to install SPB Shell on it since i like the interface, or after installing a rom am i just limited to whatever interface it comes with? Just wondering if it affects what aftermarker software i can still use if possible after flashing, or does it not matter... thanks

Re: Do different roms affect aftermarket programs?

You can try installing practically anything you want on any ROM, but it is possible that there will be a conflict. Since you're hard resetting anyway when you flash the ROM, unless the chef explicitly notes that SPB mobile shell won't work, you might as well go ahead and try. Since you're on Verizon, your TP has limited memory, so that might affect your ability to run 3rd party software (that's as much a warning as a ding on my former carrier - sorry!).

No harm in trying, anyhow!

Re: Do different roms affect aftermarket programs?

Spb Mobile Shell will run on about anything if there is room. Room for the program and a little extra for the spinny things and what not. I run my rom with full windows compliments and the MobileShell. (I have removed the other shell programs from my rom...) I suppose it would run in a rom with Rhodium or TF3D, but probably not as smooth since there are other system resources going.

So, the more you run, the slower it's gonna go. But it will do it...
