USB Car Charger + Mini USB plug = no car charger? - Page 2

u did technically buy a charger for an apple device...

and the cord is more for camcorders and dig cameras, their supported phone list was kinda small unless u had a BB.... theres no HTCs listed period, let alone a TP...

return it and try another place...

No, I didn't buy an Iphone charger. I bought a generic USB car charger. That means it works with any device that uses 5 volts to charge (ie any usb device).

So finally, I got it to work. But I had to use my headphone dongle to get it to work. If I plug in the usb cable directly into my TP, it doesn't work, but if I plug it into my headphone dongle and then that into my TP - it works fine.

So it appears for whatever reason it's the mini usb plug configuration. It probably would work with the OEM TP usb cable since it has the same oblong head.

I am using this charger in my car for both my iPhone andTP1.. works flawlessly. It was $5 when I got it, but it seem to increased to $6 with free shipping... but you can't beat that

Not for use with Iphone.

it does seem to favor apple products over anything, but im glad u still got it working anyways... especially for under $2..

You do realize that was what it said it was for, you know, marketing? It is a generic USB car charger. Just because it works with Apple products doesn't mean it was made for Apple.

If you were selling it, wouldn't you want to market to people with Apple products?

Hey bro, not to be a "know it all" or anything like that...but, I have a ton of cables from my old motorola razor phones, and a few from digital cams an such, and even one from my Logitech Harmony remote...and I tried all of them after reading this thread, and every one of them worked charging my phone....I honestly thought that there would be a few that didn't work, but they all actually did...

I understand that usb is relatively simple and that any generic cable should be simple, however, it seems like a bad idea to take random chargers with the same plug ends and start plugging them into your phone to see if they work. chargers use different amp ratings. you might hav some that are 200ma chargers, and others that are 2A chargers. just saying.....
