Do I need to unloack before flash
 

I have sprint touch pro from last 6 months but I have not tweak anything on phone, but after visiting the site, I am preparing myself to flash first time. I am trying to gather all information before flash it but I am confuse about unlocking phone. Do I have to unlock my phone before flashing any ROM?

And I see lots of ROM for my phone, is there any place where I can find any comparison between ROMs? Being first timer, what do you suggest about ROM, which ROM I should use? I know there is tons of information but difficult to find one.

Yes you do.. If you do not, your phone may become bricked (basically a paperweight)..

Thanks for all of you for helpful information. Can anyone suggest any particular rom? Or any comparison between ROMs? Any advantage/disadvantage using one ROM over any other ROM?

There are many threads on this already.

I would read through some of the ROMS is the upgrade section and see which one appeals to you.

there are many easy roms out, many clean or [light] ROMS.

many are in Favor or Silence, mightyrom, or silence mighty.

we all would suggest going through them and getting a feel for it.

believe me once you flash you'll be addicted!

There are alot of good roms out there my fav are "Energy" "Mike's Mighty rom" "Silence" silence he has listed a new one a few days ago its fast and has no lag with programs, good on battery life by far on of the best roms I have tired in awhile and I have to agree with lilbitz once you start flashing you just cant stop lol good luck with your searching!

Finally I flashed my TP first time with silence. I like theme and additional program specially stock tab, but I don't see significant difference in battery life. One more thing, is there any way I can delete bubble breaker?

You can delete the shortcut by going into File Explorer and then \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Games

You can delete the exe (BubbleBraker.exe) by going into File Explorer and then \Windows\

I can delete the shortcut, but can't delete the bubblebreaker.exe. I know you can't delete it from original ROM, but I thought I could delete it after flashing custom ROM and that was my main reason to flash it.

You'll need to install TotalCommander to delete it from ROM. However, when you soft reset, it will re-spawn.

I'd just delete the shortcut. The exe won't harm you and it is very small. Out of sight, out of mind :)

Like he said just delete the shortcut. It won't play any impact on how well your phone runs.

Now, I want to use internet sharing, i see two options as network connections: Data and Phone as Modem - Is this common or should I have to change something on registry? I choose Data and it worked, am I missing something?

I usually recommend to people new to flashing to start with a wm6.1 based rom with manilla, for the simple fact that its similar to stock so the change isnt quite so abrupt, but ultimately I prefer 6.5 as do most people, so i would eventually start looking at 6.5 roms with titanium if i were you. Regardless of what you do, there are endless possibilities. Good luck!
