Just FYI if you use Asurion via VERIZON they no longer have the HTC Touch Pro so they are giving you HTC Touch Diamonds. :protest:

dont take it..... thats a cheaper device, they tried this with the mogul.... everyone flipped....

thats how alot got TPs for replacements

They did the same thing to me....Insist you need the keyboard....
They will send you a NIB TP....

I've tried talking to the "advanced team" a few times and so far nothing. They keep telling me they no longer make the Touch Pro so the only phone they will give me is the Diamond and they consider the keyboard on the pro a cosmetic feature. ](*,)

if asurion wont make it right call VZN cust service and *****. tell them that you either want a new TP or you will use the diamond till the TP2 is out. i would raise holy hell if they did that to me.

just tell them you need the expandable memory of the TP or the TP2, thats not "cosmetic"

If it is a verizon diamond then those did come with expandable memory. sprint did not.

I'm former Alltel so they sent me the Alltel Diamond which does not have it. I did try telling them about it not having the SD slot. No matter what I said the reply was always the diamond is all we have that is comparable to the pro.

he did say in the OP this was about asurion... he meant to say this is about VZWs TPs and not the entire stock of TPs nationwide, thats all, thats why he corrected it to say via VZW

you already took the device from them in trade??? why didnt you tell us that.. im pretty sure we all assumed you turned down the deal, thats why were making suggestions on what to do...

your screwed, you already accepted the offer, now anytime you need to haggle or deal with your carrier or asurion, everything will only be comparable to a diamond.... WAY more phones are comparable to a diamond... you lost all negotiating powers if you ask me by accepting a device of lesser value...

The diamond is no where near comparible. Y? Cause of software? Cause physically it is not the same phone. I agree with everyone else here man, don't let them punk you around, they are good for that. DEMAND what you want and make a scene. Closed mouths don't get fed. Besides, the TP is worth more than the diamond. I'd be telling them, since you don't have any more touch pros then I'll wait for the TP 2.

When I made the claim it had the touch pro listed as my phone. when I opened the box it turned out they sent the Diamond.

they don't have any refurbed TP's. I hope that's the case if my TP goes out after the TP2 release.

how long ago was this again? yeah, id def be pissed if they pulled a switch-a-roo on that like me..

do u still have the confirmation email that says your replacement is suppose to be a TP?? thats your leverage...

however there is a downside to all this.. like the mogul, they may tell u a replacement may take 7-10days... they need to recieve some for repair and refurb them out as a first come first serve basis at this point... theyll accept your phone no prob, though they may not have one to send back out...

this happened on sprint with moguls and a TON of people, myself included basiclly forced Sprint into giving us TPs, since waiting a week or 2 for a replacement is not in the contract..

so you prob can force yourself into getting a TP again, but may be awhile.... if you have a back up device you can use for a bit, tell them you'll wait till a refurb TP can be shipped or youll take a credit towards a TP2.... either way, u need to give the diamond back, the longer u have it, the less time you have to atleast get back to a TP
