Verizon GPS question....
 

Ok I am a Sprint customer and so I cannot varify this so I am asking you guys.
I want to make sure that verizon users can get GPS working on my ROMS. So here is my question.

In theory if one would flash the new Verizon Stock ROM that unlocks GPS and let it customize and then flash a custom rom would GPS still work?

If not, then all they would need to do is install and run the PPST to unlock and provision the radio, correct?

if they flash a new rom without it, then they still wont have it...

yes u can put the ppst settings in and do the radio

stock rom has locked radio included. your rom doesn't include any radio. therefore the radio from stock will remain and be locked. i can verify that your v4 rom worked with unlocked radio using google maps and tomtom.

flash any rom you want(i recommend boreds or SSK), then run the boreds GPS fix at the top of this forum in the stickies.

Don't bother flashing the verizon unlocked rom...Pointless! All it is really is a standard VZW Rom with a PPST2.01 cab that runs during user customization which is why you need to run PPST everytime you flash a new rom. the flash clears the memory and since the PPST is installed via customizations it does not survive the hard reset of memory during flash.

You can make an OEM for the PPST and include it in your rom. Or simply add it via customization the same way verizon does.

Yes it's the same idea but the PPST2.01 is the official unlocker released by verizon.

You should use the PPST2.01.cab instead of the BoredGPS V2 fix.
Much faster sat lock with it.

ppst is in boreds thread. it clearly states in his VZN gps unlocker thread to use the PPST cab that is in that first post.

Yes he took it from the VZW MR update rom that runs that as a customization...

Bored posted the official unlocker and says to use that instead of the Bored V2 fix...

If you just say use the bored fix then someone will run his patch instead of the official one!
