threaded sms problem after using Pimbackup
 

hey guys, idk if this happened after or before i pimbackuped my contacts and messages, but it left my thread messeges out of order. usually it would be like a conversation like a,b,a,b; but now it's a whole list of one person's sms then another list for the other person. has anyone had this similar issue? thanks

have you tried turning threaded off and then back on?

Ive used about 3 different backup programs so its pretty normal... but the other post might be right in regards to turning it off then back on

B&T is correct. you have to go into settings and turn threaded off then back on for it to work. cant remember if you have to shut it down in between the off on thing or not.

yes...turn threading off, soft reset, turn back on, soft reset

wait for your msgs to load

it will first load all the msgs into your phone

it will then thread them. it won't do it at the same time, so you have to be patient. if you have alot of msgs i would just wait to do this overnight.

you can tell if they're threading by looking at the bottom left corner of the SMS window...the words will be 'flickering' i guess you can say

awesome thanks guys.

heres the fix:

-before u reload ur pim, make sure phone sms is on classic
-after reloading is done, switch to threaded
-now all messages window will have a flicker at the bottom trying to organize all the texts


yeah i tried switching to classic and to thread numerous times and it didnt work, just gotta make sure u set ur sms is classic b4 u reupload the pimbackup. thanks again for the input guys!

dont have to turn on classic first. i have done restore several times and have never done that first. the fix i and others have posted works 100%.

ohhh i see it could be the version of Pimbackup i guess i dont even know the version of mine. what are u using?

damn if i know. but like i said, if you dont turn off threaded messaging it doesnt matter. once you do the restore just follow the steps and you should be GTG. only thing i didnt like about PIM is it didnt back up my pics. the text are there but there empty. wish i had known that before hand i would have saved the pics. i had some from work i wanted to save. oh well.
