Video Too Large To View On This Device ???

I got this message when somebody tried to send me a video from their new Sprint Instinct. Anybody know the reason for that? How we can fix that? Not even sure if this is something that I should post here or on an Instinct forum...

he recorded the video and then i guess tried to send it and when i got it all i saw was a screen shot and when i tried to open it to play it had this screen with a grey background that said what my title to this post is. It came thru on the regular sprint pic mail and when I got to properties it says 4kb jpeg so it didn't even come thru as a video and i couldn't play it on my computer when i hooked it up. I tried sending him one the same way (didn't work) and then thru email, the email way said it was too big and it got returned.

Yeah depending on the email client u using, u can only send up to a certain size. Like Darren said, best way is to upload/send link. If the vid is few megs, then it should go and play

lol, my bad I thought I would be automatically subscribed to this thread since I started it so I didn't know there were any replies. What's a good site to upload it too? Yeah, I'm stumped as to why it didn't work. I called Sprint and they said it should have sent a link to the other person for them to view online but it didn't do that... Couldnt get them to troubleshoot right this moment because this is my only phone

easiest thing to do would be to login to your sprint pic mail account on your pc, and download the video from there. do you have arcsoft installed? if not, i would look into that. the stock sprint picmail app is complete garbage.

as for sending a video, again... arcsoft should be able to handle that. there's a reg hack to allow up to 5mb files, anything beyond that and you'll have to send an email.

you tried to send a video through what email service provider on your phone? gmail doesn't have tiny file size limitations, so i would sign up for a gmail account if you haven't already...but seriously, who doesn't have a gmail account lol

Re: Video Too Large To View On This Device ???

well, the thing was he didn't send it thru email he just went to the video and sent it i guess thru sprint pic mail so when I got it it was a 4kb jpeg file. So should he have sent it as email to #@pm.sprint.com? or something else?

yea, if you dont have arcsoft, you need it. but what was the other phone your friend sent it to? ive had the problem with people sending pics or vids from "dumbphone" to smartphone, so it could be some sort of wierd compatability issue...but ive had my girl send me vids  from her instinct and they work just fine...does your friends phone say how big the file is? as its converting it to a jpg, id think that your friends phone is changing it to that when it sends.
