I have tried a number of GPS programs and am currently using iGuidance. Voice guided directions tell you exactly how far until your next turn immediately following your last turn, and updates you every so often to remind you it is approaching. Have yet to find one that is very good at "turn left and then immediately right' though. I generally take a glance at the whole route before leaving so I have an idea of any immediate turns like that.

I use GarminXT and I just think it is the best at that...

It will combine notifications just the way you are looking like turn right then stay left.

Thank you for correcting the link I provided.

I must tell you, prior to using these instructions my TP also suffered from the horrible lag relative to my 6700 and 6800. On all my devices I use the same TomTom navigator program, and so I really noticed the lag when I loaded Tomtom onto my TP. I had tried every other "fix" out there, but this one actually worked.

Take the time to follow the instructions to the letter and you should notice much less lag.

I use garmin mobile XT, and it is BY FAR the best ive used so far. There seems to be MUCH less lag, and i think its partly due to the map being loaded on the SD card. I used it today infact for a 20 mile trip to a restaurant here near the house. It had less than 1 second of lag, and directions and MPH were spot on.
