alltel mms problem
 

cant send or recieve mms/looked through forums and installed ddc cab and also alltel arcsoft cabs but still no fix any ideas

Alltel customers are having multiple mms/sms issues network-wise due to the merger. Might wanna make sure that is not the reason or post more info as to what is/is not happening.

flashed mighty 4 and also spb mobile shell and now i cant send or recieve mms not sure if it is a mighty problem or shell problem. also searched forum and installed ddc and arcsoft cabs trying to fix it but no luck. if i go to send mms the insert tab is not active and anyone sending mms message to me it never shows anything

port 80 set connect via to "data or network" or 8080 set connect via "internet" also if this doesnt work i would just call alltel and tell them its not working this is what i did and it fixed it BUT READ THIS!!!!!!!!
this was my problem...

I knew for a fact that it wasnt my rom or archsoft. why? because i just had it working and i hard reset and setup my phone like i lalways do. the thing it would do was tell me it couldnt connect.

i read in another forum to check settings but i cant find anywhere to check them where do i start looking for settings on connect via and port 80

go to your sms/mms area where it shows all your txt messages and click menu then click pic/video options. then click servers

what kinda error are you getting? what is it doing wrong?

im not getting any errors it just wont let me attach any file the insert option is not highlighted. also if someone sends mms the phone dont do anything

are you sure you have arcsoft installed? which version of arcsoft do you have installed?

There is a cab out there that removes all the arcsoft stuff. the last time i had a really big problem with my arcsoft i had to install that cab (which just removed everything) soft reset, reinstalled arcsoft and soft reset again. i cant find it right now but you could try
uninstall, soft reset, reinstall, soft reset, wait for phone to boot up completely and try it that way? i will try to look for this cab if that doesnt work before i go to bed.

im not sure if this is gonna work but atleast you can try it. try the first method without having to install this cab first.

thanks for your help looks like ill have to flash rom and start from scratch and see where it gets messed up

along with psycho's advice, make sure you are installing arcsoft to the device memory, and not the storage memory.

Ok ,if all else fails heres what I do... install:

1. remove picture mail cab

2. install the sprint threaded pic mail cab

3. soft reset
4. install alltel pic mail cab

and just for giggles i always install dcd carrier cab so it will put settings where they need to be may not be needed , but works for me everytime
