1 Attachment(s)
my phone wont connect...when i reinstall the driver it says to disconnect the modem, even when the phone isnt hooked up. The HTC wireless modem driver stays hung up on uninstalling. I have no idea what to do next. Any help is appreciated.

On driver install, its says i need qcmdmxp.sys from the HTC driver disk. What is that? All I have are these 2 files:

HTC modem driver
Wmodem driver installer

What am i missing?

And I found that its com6 port but wont recognize it as a phone, only as a modem. Any way to change that?

Figured it out.

For those having connection issues, on autodetect, it eventually asks you to locate qcmdmxp.sys. The file is in windows/system23/drivers. Then Voila!

Just my experience with this hack is that it does nothing. Sure, you might have more bars, but you still have those same dead spots as before. Did not help at all - which is my biggest complaint about this phone. Why make such a nice device with such horrible reception? My old Razr I had 4-5 years ago had better reception.

I hear the reception is better in the bad spots but not in the good spots. Though even if it works how YOU say, if the signal is better in some places it will still contribute to better battery life ;)
