Major Issue With S2U2 On Sprint HTC Touch Pro! Please help!
 

So, I really needed/wanted a program, like the locking slider for the iphone, for my phone. And eventually, I stumbled across S2U2, I didn't read about any big issues with it, and everyone loved it. So I installed it right away last night on my phone. My phone worked Lag FreeandFlawlesslybefore installing the app. After the installation of the latest VGA version of the app, it worked great and did everything I needed it to do, with hardly any noticeable lag on the phone or anything since installing it. Today, it still worked great, however, I accidentally did a soft reset on my phone, and when it booted back up .... I was getting MAJOR LAG. I tried to close every program and shut down S2U2, but that did absolutely nothing. The memory status in task manager said it was only at about 30-32%, as it normally is with no programs running in the background, but this time, the phone is lagging horrendously. It's so bad, I can't even access my texts messages readily, sometimes they take forever to load when opening one. I knew S2U2 had to be the problem, so I uninstalled it using the add/remove program option in the windows settings folder. After that, I did another soft reset. Great, the program is now gone, however, the same horrible lag is still there. Did the program edit a reg key or something? I'm almost certain the program is the root of this evil. Can someone please help me out? If no one can, I'll try to e-mail the developer, but he'll probably be browsing around on here anyway. Also, I'm sorry if this is not the right place for such a post, my apologies.

P.S- I'm running the latest Verizon Stock ROM, which was released fairly recently, and therefore, this phone is on the Verizon Network.

Make sure and use v1.62. Disable all Caller ID options. Have it lock when it wakes up. You should be all good. The newer v2.04 is buggy for me. I've been using 1.62 and had very minor issues with it.

Alright, but what if I have it removed and my phone is still lagging like it did when I had the app installed, what would cause a lasting effect?

It sounds suspusicous for S2U2. I have been runnign the latest version for some time, and have not noticed any problems. Of course, I always have some version of it installed and running. So if it caused minor lag, I wouldn't notice it. It sounds like you have a lot of lag though.

The only way to know for sure would be to do a hard reset. I could imiage one of the dll files getting corrupted somehow. Either because of the s2u2 or something else that happened around the same time of the s2u2 installation. the only way to know for sure if it was just a coincidence in time would be to hard reset and add s2u2 back.

i had this problem not long after i installed s2u2 on my old TP. i thought it was just a coincidence and the phone was just crapping out. even after 10 hard resets, the lag was still bad, so i took it to sprint and they gave me a replacement. try a couple hard resets and see if that fixes it. if not, you'll probably be getting a new phone.

Same here . . .I installed it on a phone and am told that it was just a coincidence that my phone basically stopped working in the described manner. After getting a new phone, I reinstalled it again only to get the lagging!!!! I even tried to reinstall it several times because I really like the app ut each time, it gave me major problems. I guess I'll e waiting for the next version. It's a shame too . . . I REALLY liked the idea of the app :(

Well my phone SOMEHOW returned back to lag free normality. Don't ask me how lol. I can tell you one thing, I'm NEVER taking the chance of running/installing that program again, it's nice, but not a necessity, especially if I'm forced to hard reset and lose all my stuff.

i'm using 1.62. anything above that caused horrible problems for me. that version works fine, no problems at all, so i have no need to install a higher version.

I'm sorta scared to go back ... lol. What makes the newer versions any better? If anything?
