Internet Connection Sharing stopped working.. was I found out?
 

Hey guys I was wondering if someone could help me wit my Internet Connection Sharing problem. I've been using EnergyROM for a few months and it's great. I've also been using ICS frequently however one day it just stopped working. The status goes from Disconnected, to Check USB Cable Connection to Waiting for Network - then it just stays there infinitely. I even tried using a different usb cable, no change.

Anyone have any idea whats going on here? I need my tethering! :(

Can you browse the net on your phone? Since the ICS uses that same connection, if you can browse on the phone, you haven't been clipped. I'm guessing you installed something or goofed something up along the way and that is why it isn't working anymore for you.

Hard-Reset and try it.

sounds like a hard-reset is in order.
otherwise you could try reinstalling ics.

Yea I browse the net fine from the phone. Also I haven't installed anything really.. hm.. apologies for the ignorance but what do I lose when i hard-reset? Just everything that didn't come with the currently installed ROM?

It will return the phone to its stock state or the way it was when you first flashed the Energy Rom. All contacts etc will be erased. So just backup any critical info, save it on your SD card and hard reset.

You may not have needed the hard reset, this may not have been your problem but the messages you got sound similar to what happened to me when I had "Phone as Modem" selected instead of "DATA" in ICS so if it ever happens again, check that.
