did you try installing to sdcard?
that seemed to work for 99% of the people.

I downloaded the pandora.zip and vga zip. Installed pandora to device. Then extracted vga to programs/pandora, let it overwrite. Works great for me.

I still don't see why people like pandora.
I use to be a hardcore pandora fan,
then started messing with last.fm
and quickly booted pandora out the door.
it's like going from the iphone 1.0(the first one) to a htc touch pro.
lol

Re: wm 6.5 and pandora?? anyone

i think im using either the titan or the 6900 version from pandoras site and it works just fine. the buttons are small, so you need to look close to click it. i setup my channels on the web and have 0 issues. my screen looks just like the "VGA" version on the link above but works just fine. no short ending songs or any other issues.

i have both but rarely use last. dont know why i dont use it more but i have never had an issue with it. i dont like that i can only skip X amount of songs in an hour but that rarely happens. i was just listening to it while i was in the shower with an external speaker running on my home WiFi. i may give last.fm some more play time though.

been running 6.5 for a while now with no issues with pandora. maybe it was something missing from your build.

Re: wm 6.5 and pandora?? anyone

Neither Pandora nor LFM work for me.

Ivans VGA Pandora cab still skips songs, but just looks nicer...

And I downloaded the pocketlast.fm.net app. It plays fine, the quality is good... but the buffer runs out over EVDO after about 30 seconds, and it will continually rebuffer for 1 second, play for 2 seconds, stop and buffer for 1, play for 2... etc, the song just skips too bad to be played... suggestions?

Edit: Same thing happens in LFM over my home wifi too... this is about how far it buffers to when it starts playing again - then it skips right away. Stupid thing is my home wifi is WAY more than fast enough. There's a problem with the program or something. I'm running Juicy8 - latest build.

did you do the cache hack?
or the pandora fix hack?
that's your problem.
you need a bigger cache.
happened to me with lastfm till I did that hack,
and had happened even alot worse with pandora previously.
Then after that hack, no problems whatsoever with lastfm,
just had some with pandora every now and then.

Mylt1 07-04-2009 10:54 PM

Re: wm 6.5 and pandora?? anyone

tried LFM last night and again today over home WiFi and like the other poster, buffering sucked. played 5 sec then cut out. fired up pandora and it only stopped once when i switched songs then picked it right back up and played non stop for another 15 min till i turned it off. what are these hacks you speak of?

codybear 07-04-2009 11:53 PM

Re: wm 6.5 and pandora?? anyone

i stated what they were in my post.
they are a "cache hack".
or the "pandora music fix hack"
otherwise known as the pandora cutting the last of the song off fix.
things along those lines.

Re: wm 6.5 and pandora?? anyone

no, i meant how do you change the cache for LFM? as far as pandora goes, mine has never cut off the end of a song.

it's the same fix for both.
they both rely on the same cache.

I swear I posted a reply to your other question earlier today - my PC must have eaten it.

Anyway, I haven't done the cache hack, but then again, nothing said it was required. Just "install this cab and it works" sort of thing. A cab for the change would be nice, but not required. If you just know the registry entries to change, that would be best - I hate Advanced Config and try to avoid installing it at all costs.

woops, didn't notice the reply.
ppcgeeks seems to be signing me out randomly when I'm in my "new posts" section so I never do get the actual full list of new posts.

I'll post the cab here after I finish it here in a minute.

::Edit::

Here's the fix cab attached to this post.

Here's what it edits:

Code:

Decimal:
HKLM\Comm\Tcpip\Parms
"TcpWindowSize" Change To "98304"

Hexadecimal:
HKLM\System\GDI\GLYPHCACHE
"limit" change to "32000"

Decimal:
HkLM\System\StorageManager\FATFS
"CacheSize" Change To "98304"

It's based off of this post here.

ShadowDrake 07-06-2009 01:52 AM

Re: wm 6.5 and pandora?? anyone

I did some searching and managed to find the entries. I left the glyphcache alone but changed my TCP window size (smaller) and the file system filter cache (enabled and made larger).

Good news that Pandora works well now (TCP window size?) but LFM does NOT. I randomly stumbled upon a cure for LFM though - run it in the background. It's buffer won't run out and it will play full songs - even with the cache and tcp window sizes set to defaults.

So could the glyph cache have an effect on this? It seems that the issue lis with it redrawing the buffer bar... so it's feasible if I understand it all correctly?

glad you found it. sorry it took me so long.
I was getting distracted constantly haha.

but it could, dunno.
I have nfsfan's TP rom stock (for now, just reflashed old version),
and I have no problem what so ever with the last fm app.

Re: wm 6.5 and pandora?? anyone

Ok, in light of all the issues... I made a cab that is the "one stop shop" to getting Pandora to work.

It's IVAN's VGA pandora .exe, combined with the .reg entries which change TCP window size, file system cache, and file system filter cache. Enjoy. It's untested but there's no reason it shouldn't work.

Edit: Pulled download link for notes of bricking phones - I'll test, correct, and re-upload. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: wm 6.5 and pandora?? anyone

Well might have been my fault, I have a diamond not a pro, and I am running the latest groove rom win mobile 6.5. I installed the cab, and I got some type of c++ debug error and pandora crashed, so I decided to just uninstall the cab, decided to do a soft reset after, and then my phone wouldnt get past boot, it froze up when windows mobile got to the home page.

I tried this on energy rom 0630. It installs fine, but when I try to open it, I get the blue Pandora screen and the spinning circle. Won't get past that screen. I installed to my device. Any ideas?

Also, after rebooting, I get a grey screen sometimes. Other times I just get stuck on the splash screen. Had to re-flash.

It worked fine for me, I have to say. Did a couple soft resets today and didn't run into any issues. About an hour ago I was sitting in my car waiting for someone, listening to LFM - the phone froze. Whatever, something I've become very used to lately. Soft reset it and nothing would start any more. Just gave me a bunch of errors saying shortcut could not be found. I hard reset, it started back up, I reinstalled everything... and it worked.

Then it froze again, and wouldn't boot any more. I did another clean hard reset and it still wouldn't boot. So now I'm reflashing. The files for the .cab are at my work PC, and I'll be there tomorrow to correct the problem and test and re-up the cab. I only never tested the .cab because I had the registry changes it makes running on my device for about a day with no issues - maybe something just went wrong when building it.

I'll have a new, working one up tomorrow afternoon, sorry for the troubles :/

Ok, this shouldn't do anything to harm anyone's device. I installed it on mine, and again, all has been working well for the past few hours and I've tried to kill it.

Any other issues/problems let me know.
