WM6.1 vs. WM6.5
I've been playing with a bunch of different ROMs (currently using EnergyROM 063009 build) and I'm just wondering...what will be the differences between a WM6.1 and WM6.5 ROM, other than the new start menu and Titanium (which doesn't matter to me, seeing as I'm hooked on Rhodium.) My main concerns are speed, battery life, and stability, so I'm wondering which would be a better idea, going with a 6.5 build, such as EnergyROM, or going with a 6.1 build (been looking at Psyki's ROM). Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Re: WM6.1 vs. WM6.5
I personally have not noticed much difference in battery performance. I only was ever on the stock rom for 6.1 and started messing with 6.5 when it became available. 6.5 gets better and better and 6.1 is what it is so if you are happy with 6.1 there is no real compelling reason to upgrade unless you like the look/feel of 6.5 or like many of us just like to tinker and be on the cutting edge.

Re: WM6.1 vs. WM6.5
I have been using both since I got the Touch Pro back in October. I actually haven't noticed differences in battery or stability. In my experience, the battery and stability have been more ROM based rather than OS based (except when 6.5 was first "leaked").
I have used different ROMs based on the same SYS files and had different results each time. I love 6.5 especially the new start menu. It took some time to get used to but in the long run, i think it is more convenient and the ability to rearrange items is cool (it could be a little more flexible). Just my opinion. |
